Oopsy Daisy!!! Didn't realize filter was held on by a little screw. What have you guys done to fix or found parts? Local dealer tried but said he has no one that he knows to contact.
The oil to gas ratio is 20-1. How much lower ratio can a guy go before you start running into fouled plugs and hard starting. Want to give it a bit more just to help it along. Thanks.

Here is my take on it. I bought a new T'NT 440 in 1972. Recommended gas - oil ratio was 20:1 just like your sled. The next year Skidoo came out with better quality oil to be mixed at 40:1. The dealer which was Turple Bros. in Red Deer told me it was okay to use it so I did. I had no issue with running at that ratio. The benefit was way less spark plug fouling. I could actually have a few rides without changing plugs. Later on in it's life I switched to running at 50:1 ratio as oil continued to improve and had no issues with that ratio either. I think I had about 7000 miles on it when I eventually sold it after 20 years. A big trip was 50 miles in those days.:d If you think about it if you put more oil in the fuel you actually decrease the amount of gas in a given amount of fuel so you are running a little leaner because of it - not that it matters a whole bunch. Bottom line is that today's quality 2 stroke oil has way better lubricating properties than that of 50 years ago. I certainly wouldn't put more oil in the gas.
Was walking through Canadian Tire the other day and there it was. Kimpex filter to boot. Working on getting the skies to point it the same direction now.Did you strip the threads in the carb body? Fuel filters are available at https://www.kimpex.com/en-ca/products/snowmobile/filters/fuel-filters/kimpex-carburetor-filter-n-a
Leaded for sure. I ran premium for the most part. I think it was about $11 or $12 per 45 gallon drum.
'72 would have been leaded gas....probably $.25 a gal.
those old girls were 20 to 1.. 1 guart for 5 gallons.. ( sorry..i dont do metric.. never will..Bought this from a guy but can't find a serial # or anything to tell me what model it is. Also what oil mixture should be used? thanks
