What hitch extension to get for pulling Trailer with Sled Deck on Truck

I got a new 8 ft deck on short box truck, what size hitch extension and Type do I need to pull my 19 foot V-nose trailer. Sleds are 163's.

It will depend on the tonque of your trailer.

With a standard 2" receiver adding a 18" or 24" extension you will dramatically reduce your allowable tongue weight, you will have to check with the manufacturer as it could be as low as 350 lbs - keep in mind that your tongue weight should be 10% of the total weight of the trailer. The only way to be safe is to jump up to a 2 1/2 receiver, they are a lot stronger. I had a similar issue with having a 10.5 ft truck camper and wanting to pull a trailer behind it. if you are going into BC you best watch your Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR)

Is that 19 footV-nose an enclosed? If not, I have a 2 foot extension that I will let go for a reasonable price because I don't have a truck camper anymore. PM if you are interested

i have the extended shank (14" ) for my dsp weight distrubtion hitch set up according to dsp it does not derate the tongue weight allowed when using the weight distrubtion bars but this may not be enough with a short box and 8 ft deck

If you really want to do it right get the torklift superhitch and extension... but it's spendy.

Cheaper to get the tongue extended on the trailer. Most extentions you lose 50% of capacity.
