So I got to thinking, what is it that makes us spend thousands of dollars, drive hours on end to ride, sometimes sleep in chitty motels and do this weekend after weekend (okay well not all of us are like Maxwell who seems to live in Valemount on the weekends:p)

Me personally? Its the adventure, camaraderie, and the general stress I leave at home when I load up the sled and go riding. Most non-sledders think I'm nuts for doing what I do for sledding but we all know its worth it in the end:)

What about you guys?

First guys back to the right of Turbo with 2-3 ft of pristine snow. Sitting in the hot tub with a cold adult beverage talking about the day. A big juicy steak at Zala's and the awesome salad bar. Chatting up Melissa..............did I say that? Lol.

I would have to agree with all you guys!!

also a little freedom from the family is nice now and then, breath taking views, climbs that make you feel invincible and pounding through the pow like its no bodies business!

Melissa and Stacy quit zalas last spring. Now the service will be a little slower. I must eat at zalas 50 times per season. And tons of yager bombs. For me the best part of sledding is power and powder. They can't be beat

I would have to say climbing a hill you never thought you could and doing it before all your buddy's haven that rush all day long. Socializing and getting away from everyday life!!

I get a bigger rush out of sledding than anything else. I have quads, a side X side, and ride a wakeboard....none of them give you the butterflies in your stomach feeling like a sled does!! HUGE adrenaline rush when you pull off something that looks impossible. That's what keeps me interested.

I can remember being maybe 5 or 6 years old and sledding with my Dad out East very early 80's. I couldn't wait for winter to go sledding and I could never get enough.

There has always been that feeling inside me, I missed sledding alot for the few years I didn't own one. Its almost an exclusive feeling that only comes with riding a sled. That eagerness to fire up the sled, smelling of two stroke, the excitment of driving up the trail to find the power just gets deeper and deeper and yours are the first tracks of the day. The list goes on...

To single out one or two items that I love most would be near impossible. Its a passion, and I am thankfull to have people to share it with.

They will be missed for sure. I bet Melissa has been there for 10-12 years. Any idea where they ended up?

Shoveling! I get about a season maybe two out of a shovel. LOL! Laughing with friends about where you ended up and how you are going to get out of this mess. Great Times!

Now I can't wait!

You don't think about anything else except where you are, who you're with and how you ended up there. Sledding removes distractions and let's you enjoy life.

It's everything... Getting away from it all. Your biggest worry is if your buddies gonna get the highmark. snow blasting you in the face. sitting in the hot tub, talking about the day, Getting to hang with the boys. The drive out their when its a full moon and its a clear sky and you can see all the snow on the mountains... knowing it gonna be a good day for sledding when you wake up!!! ohh and my favorite part is........ riding a polaris!!! HAHAHA

I do it for that split second of euphoria right before I screw up/land/pull off the impossible. I also sled for the rush of being at the edge of control or out of control. I ride to get away from people. When I ride it's me and my machine. I'm in complete control or out of control depending on the decisions I made and the reactions I made. I ride for the camaderie of the select few people I ride with. Nothing better than adventures with friends.

I like that fact that I can go places in the mountains that I wouldn't ever get to go see if I didn't have my sled, the thrill of being at the top of the mountain. And of course, having my E-tech is another best thing about sledding! :)

Chairlifts are boring.

I love that I can have fun on the way to the top, get off and strap in and have fun all the way to the bottom.

Then again, there is nothing like coming into a medow filled with pow, and just holding the throttle to the bar...
