I put silicone around all the joints..
Motor end cap, magnet housing to gear case etc. , it helps but you still have to clean them once a year if you want them to last. They all get mud and water in them. Don't use your winch when your in the water/ mud if you can help it. Use your buddies winch who is on dry land. The warn winches can am uses are the worst. They don't even have a seal kit in them. Saving dollars I guess

thanks, I will tear it apart in the next while, I got a couple months out of the last clean up!
When you put it back together, use a marine grease in the gears. If you do get water in it at least the grease will resist the water better. That's what i did on my dads quad, been 3 years since i did it and it's working great still.

I just used regular wheel grease, last time I cleaned the gearing side out. will get some when I pull it apart in the next week or so. just way to busy with work right now. thing on hiring another crew chief! likely just jinxed us! lol

Use moly76 it's high pressure,waterproof grease. Don't stuff it full of grease just lightly coat the gears.
