When choosing gear soley based upon it's weight, you have to keep in mind that Sled Gear requires extra durability not necessarily needed for ski and snowboard gear. Our Running Boards, and ventures into trees can completely demolish Ski/boarding gear in a matter of minutes. Pants are most vulnerable in my opinion. For Sled gear you get what you pay for but if you are looking for a deal, early or late season purchasing may find great deals in non current product. Ask your local dealer about some non current pricing. I have some wicked deals at our store on non current Klim. I'm completely sold out of Motorfist Non Current, but I have some Klim left.
I personally wear Motorfist, I have for 3 seasons now and my family and I couldn't be happier or dryer at the end of a long day of riding.

Went with TOBE gear this year and I love it. Stayed dry in a warm high humidity day at revy where we sent most of the day digging. And unlike most of the other sled gear out there, it actually has some colour to it beyond black and red.

You really need to go try on each brand. Head to toe and see how they fit for you. My personal preference may be totally different than yours. I am extremely happy with the Motorfist product, and have been so for three years now. My husband introduced me to the product and the people and I have to say the Motorfist staff are amazing individuals. They care about the people, not only the product they send out. I am a fan of eVent, I feel that it's waterproofness and epic breathability set it apart from many brands. Try both brands of gear on, and you decide what fits you best. You're not going to go wrong either way.

MotorFist uses eVent Fabrics in the gear. it by FAr is more breathable then anything else out there. Google it and check it. And MF has the best warranty.
........And it's worth another 5.5 HP in some conditions

It is Waterproof and Breathable which makes for complete confidence and comfort in your gear. I have been riding in cold temps, raining huge snow .. digging myself out of holes.. and Not gotten wet.
I have a video of my boots in a creek from last week... (my awesome whoopsie skills.) Completely dry feet.
I'm a happy camper.

I prefer FXR gear, built durable, keeps you warm at -27, fairly light depending on style and you stay dry. Depending on gear style depends on colors. Can say when I hit a guidrewire yesterday coat didn't have a mark just my arm had some road rash.

Price is comparable to the others!

It is Waterproof and Breathable which makes for complete confidence and comfort in your gear. I have been riding in cold temps, raining huge snow .. digging myself out of holes.. and Not gotten wet.

I have ckx pants that do the job just fine, but for upper body I have Eddie Bauer first ascent. I very thin light base layer with hood/ balaclava, light weight fleece layer and a very light weight thin shell. Weights nothing and very comfortable. Never been wet or cold. Love it

Klim pants, Motorfist jacket. I get most of my mid and base layers from R.U. Outside snowmobile boots and gloves, winter clothing, motorcycle jackets, windproof balaclavas, thermal base layer, neoprene supports, merino wool socks and more. Good wicking stuff and light/midweight fleece. Pretty reasonably priced too.

Yes TOBE is the gear that Chris Brown rides with. So far I've found it very functional and it looks great. Service has been great. I found out they have an authorized repair shop in Calgary, so when I do tear it on my running boards (and that will happen) they have the right fabric and tape to fix it and keep it waterproof.

I do Larry usually a thicker fleece or a hoodie but have yet to pull it out. And have ridden locally at -30 tearin through fields

I bring along one of these every day.



It packs down real small into it's own pocket, so it fits into my bag. At the end of the day, I tend to get a bit cold, so I slap this baby on underneath my shell and keep totally warm on the way back to the trucks. Nothing insulates like down.
