My Martin Motor Sports Summit X Etec has been wicked this year. And I cant be happier.

One pull starts
Less oil
Less fuel
Good Power
LOVE the new geometry
LOVE that there is now room for a Muff Pot

BUT: There is always anticipation:d So will there be anything new ?

2.5" Track ?:d
Larger cc ? :d
Anyone got the scoop

New chassis. Look at the model history.
Once they redesign the motor, which is every 4 years, they come out with a new chassis.

1999> reed valved motors...2000> zx chassis
2003> 800HO motor....>2004 REV chassis
2007>800R motor.....>2008 XP chassis
2011> E-TEC motor.....2012 Vista chassis?? LOL

I would like to see better floatation in their skis, I am glad they got rid of the lousy loops that you can't grab without hurting your hands.

Option to order with 2.5 track. That, I think will be the next thing for sure.

Fat bars would be nice. I snapped mine last weekend.

Stronger rear bumper.

Perhaps easier access to the oil pump/throttle cable... Had to replace mine a couple of weeks ago.

better air intake system. I was told the 2011 is WORSE than the previous models.

thats ok, we dont need one. BUT the 2.5 will be nice

I doubt it will come next year, but I WANT a 1000etec

I agree, I'm lucky to be a sales guy at a dealer and get a new demo each year,if you were to ride a 08 then a 2011 you would not even know they are based off the same chassis design.....
more power is something that we all would love, and a 2.5 would really rock.

and the Rev came out in '03...just had to wait for '04 to get a Rev Summit.

600 etecs were out long before 2011...and so were a few early released 800's in short tracks

The OP is from the mountains. I figured he didn't want a short track 600 LOL

No but your logic on chassis changes thus does not line up :d

And really...I have seen a lot of 600's this year, likley more than the past few in mountain sleds. Smaller motors in the newer chassis's seem to be becomming more popular....not that I would buy one! :d

I'm assuming this thread is about FULL production mountain sleds?

I think no one will get the scoop until they announce next year's model, or miraculously send out the "SPY photos", that BRP schedules....

This is just what I was told from martins but the summit will be full on mountain ready with 2.5" track stock, nothing mentioned of new chassis.

From a VERY reliable source who does testing for doo., He says no new chasis, no new motor. Some new plastic changes maybe and also if you snow check then you will be able to get things like a 2.5" track and probably a few other mtn goodies. But all in all not much new comin next year.

A shop near here still has his factory BB sitting in the crate cause he is waiting on BRP to get the ECM done.
