the hawks are a lot of fun, feels like a dirtbike crossed with a jetski, but can corner like it runs on rails, very easy to drag a elbow cornering, they suck on slow twisty trails, and I dont enjoy running on hardpack, otherwise crazy fun..the bike kits look like silly toys compared to a hawk and seems a lot more expensive than a used hawk if you are guying a bike to.I think if you look you could pick up a hawk for the cost of just the track kit for bikes..if you ride dirtbikes you will love the hawk ,if you ride a quad or are a brand specific guy you might not,and it seems if you sell sleds you definetly wont like it..
Snow hawks are definately for the persistant and adventurous!! They are so much fun once you get used to the fact that they are nothing like a sled. The more horsepower you have the more fun it is! I have a 503 fan cooled and it will run all day long on hard pack or deep snow. The 600's are a little more fun due to more horsepower but handle the same. Only drawback is they are painful to ride on hardpacked or groomed trails and can be subject to overheating. Way way WAY more fun in powder. Hit the throttle and zip all over!! Love these things so much I bought two 800's!!
If ever you have the chance to ride one.....give it an honest effort and pretent its a dirtbike.......just keep your feet on the pegs and trust the machine.....you won't regret it and you'll be smiling ear to ear!!
I have been riding dirtbikes for almost 15 years and just got into sledding about 4 years ago. I ride a 2006 Summit 800 151" and it is a blast in the pow but I find it heavy and bulky on tight trails and hard pack. I have been considering buying a snowhawk, just to try. I foud out today that snowhawks will be continued to be build. (see below)
[h=4]MOTOSPORTS THIBEAULT ACQUIRES SNOWHAWK[/h]On May5th 2011, Motosport Thibeault (MST) acquired the assets, production rights patents and inventory of everything relating to snowhawk from A.D. Boivin. (with the exception of the JR 60 & JR120 lines as well as ZX2 suspensions and Xplorer motocross tracks are still held by A.D. Boivin)
