single burial work well, multiple burials can get confused. will tend to route you back to closest beacon, as in just found. don't get me wrong, this is what i have heard. practice will get you past this i'm sure, just sales peeps say this is for new users( as in little practice).

did i say practice using.

Most of them are good. Any one you choose will work as long as you practice. the "easier to use" ones may actually not work as well if you are lulled into thinking that you don't need to practice with it.

I was just curious because it is the beacon i use and rent, i havnt found that issue myself when using the it correctly.. I think the issues you have heard might be like we have all been sayin.. PRACTICE..

I always tell people when they rent or buy a beacon that if it's in the morning, before they head up the trail someone should hide a beacon and then the "newbie" to the beacon and others dont hurt practice using it to get familiar with it and refresher on using them. If it is in the evening then i tell them they should do it that evening then they should be good to go in the morning..

We also had a beacon traing park installed up lucielle last winter so that people could practice using there beacon's in both single and multiple burial situations. And there was a main control box so that the user could turn beacons on & off to have several different scenario's. We also told people that it'd be benficial for them to stop and check it out if they were heading up lucielle. The park was donated to our snowmobile club by a local family this past season..

i agree totally, may just needed a little more practice. was something to do with not locking out a found signal, but with use/practice probably no issue.

I talked to Zac Tracs and they were very helpful and they recommened the Pulse or the Pieps. But the most important thing is to pratice and know how to use your beacon.
