What about 1000 gears in a turbo 800?

Has anyone tried to put 1000 gears in a turbo 800? Will the mph gain be worth it or will it load it down to much? any imput

We can try switching dd's if you want. I heard the M8 gears work better in the 1000's. You'll have to fix your noise problem first though!!!

Im scared to pull the cover off, if it's not broken don't fix it rite! I want to know if gearing up will help but don't want to be the first to try it. allready spent way to much$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Never tried the turbo is sitting on the kitchen floor. Gunna put it back in next weekend. might rebuild dd at the same time thats why im curious about the gear set up

You better take the DD apart and check it out as they have known bearing problems and to fix it now will be cheap, when she blows they pretty much destroy everything inside and that will hurt the ol pocketbook, just my opinion. Good luck, if you want a cheap set of M1000 gears, there will be lots out there as many guys geared thier machines to the M8 ratio.

Looks like i'd better stick with what I have and stop messing with it!!!!!Why is it that nothing is ever good enuff? Sled heads, were all the same!!!!

ya...we picked up some dds at a good deal from cat,,, call the shop during the day or pm me n i can find out the numbers $$ tommorrow

Gerald just do what u normally do and dump the race fuel in the tank and fill the spare jerry with paralyzers and ride the thing.... Wouldnt be there first time da M grand dragged u home.
