Trying to sell my sled on Kijiji, got these two responses , both wanted too pay by PayPal , when I said cash only at pick up then the both tried to get me too send them a email. From what I hear PayPal is bad but how do they burn ya by sending them a email . I wouldn’t fall for that crap but just curious how they screw you, they are persistent . I had some fun lol

You can email money apparently but there is generally a limit...I think about $2,000. Not sure what the scam potential is but I have no doubt there is a way.

Would have too be like 3 transfers
With my personal Scotiabank accounts I can e-transfer 10k every 24 hours, with my RBC personal accounts its 2500 every 24 hours, and RBC business accounts 10k every 24hours.

With RBC you can send an e-transfer to a cell number, comes through almost instantly.

And with all the e-transfers I've sent and received, RBC is the quickest for sending and receiving with Scotia and Credit unions being the slowest.

Those are normally a pretty standard script and are scammers. They want to pay by PayPal, only communicate via email and want someone else to come pick it up because they are “insert heart wrenching story here”.

Do not do pay pal. It protects the buyer and not the seller. After they pick up the sled they can cancel the payment right away..... and your nightmare will begin. Cash is king.

That makes sense on the PayPal , they both wanted to use PayPal , told them cash only at pickup. Then like they were buddies both wanted me too send them emails and provided email address. I didn’t get that or how they can burn me with just a email address

Etransfer can also be reversed

PayPal: don’’t even bother with this...
Etransfer: be careful of fraud accounts paying, double check confirmation code on Interac website
Cash: make sure bills aren’’t counterfeit (very easy to slip some in)
Bank Draft: clear with bank that’ it’s real

Every form of payment is easy to scam. Don’t deal with shady characters.

with the paypal scam they back the account with a fraudulent or stolen credit card. paypal payment comes to your account, and is legit. then once the fraud is discovered, money is promptly removed from your account. you are out the sled, and the cash with no recourse.
