Not a bad call. Staying in meadows guys are getting safely buried judging by the pictures from yesterdays ride. Another 4-6 inches yesterday and blue skies today is only going to compact the avi danger, so be careful out there.

In bad need of an "eraser" for all the old tracks and sunbeat snow. Haven't seen a flake for almost two weeks and with a stretch of warm sunny days and cold (-20+) nights, its a bad combination for beat snow and bad weak layers for avalanches. A few flakes flying right now, but not looking very promising for todays accumulations. Hopefully the storms moving in off the coast this weekend hit us this time.

Looks like the historic H2O accumalations graph is showing up this season.

Spring is the new winter. As of last post on the West Conditions, we have seen well over two feet around West and more accumalations in the higher elevations. Avalanches have been seen in every riding area around. Powder turns on the trails for a day, "Secret Spots" are full of powder and post Presidents Weekend crowdless mountains are here until the snow is gone. My turn to ride!
Here is a few shots from the few rides I got out on this past busy week.

Some Pics from our ride into the northern mountains two days ago. Been warm & windy since then making some good spring type riding yesterday. Looking at another possible 4-8 inches today, says the weather guru's. Then back to riding in light jackets for a projected week of sunny skies and mountain temps into the high 30's.

Anyone been to West Yellowstone the last couple days? Rode Big Sky today, the trail that starts just south of town….wasn't very good.

Is it worth the drive from Butte to Yellowstone tomorrow?

Big Sky Trail sounds pretty good, any insight? Where's the best place to unload to get on it. We have never rode W Yellowstone before…

Thanks guys.

Been getting some snow the past couple days. Rain down low. Showing aroung 6-8 inches so far. Looks like the next clearing will be Monday, with an additional 6-12 inches by then possible. Hoping for at least a foot and blue skies by then for another powder ride. Anyone trying to use the Big Sky trail from old Einos, creek is opened up, so use the Tepee trail or Wit's trail to access those areas.

Here's a few pics from last weeks ride with the Dierkes crew. Sun, spring snow, avalanches everywhere and goodtimes had by all.

I've preached it all season, spring is the new pink. Went from t-shirt riding with a tan this past Tuesday to almost 3 feet of snow for the ride today! Blackbear snotel site: from 108 inches to 126 inches! Madison Plateau snotel site: from 69 inches to 96 inches!!! Its going to be a POW DAY! Thank you snow Gods for giving me this Easter powder ride before heading south for many days of sunshine and golf. :hail:

Finally had a chance to post a few of the pics from out spring ride, post 25+ inches of snow last saturday. Powder turns all the way up the S. Plateau trail. Got to love going from pow shots in April to 90 degrees on a golf coarse the next day.
