Where abouts can you get west of the Trunk road (trails) around the area the clearwater crosses it, crossed it to be on the north side went couple kms north then back east to the cabin.

If there is any trails that go into the west, north or south of the river how far can you get.

Was a good ride though only stuck a few times (was by myself, wasnt to crazy):)

Was stuck both times 1km from truck, second time I unloaded my gear at truck went back for more. Rest of the trip took it easy, had Gps, cell coverage, and peeps knew where I was going, unless i tripped, fell down a ravine and got stuck in the mud, I knew i would be alright good.

So which way from the trunk road southwest you said..lol:beer:

gforce you would Chit your pants if you ever seen where I go by myself  Last Sunday Morning I left my camp in the morning and by noon I was half a tank a fuel away and crawling down an embankment with a chainsaw looking for a way down into the Ram valley. By 3 in the afternoon I was out of fuel for the chainsaw but had blazed enough deadfall out of my way to get myself and my quad down to the Ram River. I built a nice fire pit there and collected enough of the dead fall that I had cut earlier while getting in there to burn all summer. It was well worth the effort, you should see the amazing fishing hole I got into. I can't wait to hit it with the fly rod this summer.
When I got back to camp that night I had put over 58 miles on my quad. I do this at least twice a week. I grew up in the bush and its no big thing to be out alone. You need to pack the right gear and give someone indication where to look for you should you be late a day or two. Trappers are way more hardcore than this. They do it in the winter time

Thanks, ya I know you can go west out in there, just where is some access point somewhere close by where the clearwater crosses (or is that where Marble Mt. is ? ) I as well have a crew coming to Caroline this weekend, razor and a renegade.. taking them out this weekend, both have been here a few times.. flatlanders ha ha,

Yes get in touch, will be heading from town early Saturday morning staging somewhere down Rig St. heading doo west south side of the river couple miles, then crossing trunk road and hopefully from this "post" find some insight on some areas west of there.

Yellow Renegade

if you go south on the trunk road just before the first creek after the clearwater river there is a trail that heads west and you pick your way through to limestone mtn

Hi 250Mark1

I think I know which trail you are talking about. (actully I am looking for directions to get to the Limestone Tower) Does it follow a seismic line that kind of runs NE to SW but has some detours around a couple of big hills? About 2 miles after leaving the trunk road you come to a fair sized creek that may or may not still have a bridge over it. Shortly after crossing this creek there is another well worn trail on a seismic line that runs SE to NW. This as far as I got.

I tried making it to limestone a couple of years ago from near the clearwater bridge (hwy 22/54 intersection) and got to the above corner but had to turn back because we were running out of time and gas. The directions we were given were spotty at best, so we were not even sure if we were on the correct trail.

I still want to make it up to limestone, only this time we will stage from the forestry trunk road. Do you know if we were on the right route and how tough is the ride getting up the side of limestone? From what I understand, you get on top of the ridge somewhere south of the tower, then follow the road up.

Thanks for your help

If you go west of Caroline, hit the trunk road and head north up and over corkscrew mountain, just as you come down you will hit 7 mile flats. From there if you can get across the Clearwater you can head a bit south then hit a trail that heads west towards Limestone.
