Travelled 500km round trip up north today and went to clyde lake. Its off highway 881, going to fort mac, and 20 km of bumpy cutlines off the highway. 4 of us went and caught 8 fish. Mine and my grandfathers were the biggest(that we got out of the hole) I caught a 35'' 11 pound Jack:d. And his was a 34'' 8 pound Jack.:) I had 2 x 50 pound test liters brake:eek:, and 3 of my jack traps(Small Poplar tree) Snap right in half:d. We were running 60 pound test line. And the ones that broke the liters were easily 15 - 20 pound fish.:mad::d

On a good day, with 5 people we have limited out in two hours, thats 15 fish and we threw back any fish under 27''. But today was windy, slow, and we still caught 8 in 4 hours.

Good Job - I don't care what any says, pike outta cold water are good eats. My sister used to make "poor man's lobster" out of them. I do the 5 cut thing on the filets - no bones!

You know people keep saying ill teach you how to do boneless fillets, ill teach you, been waiting 2 years no one taught me. But i dont care, I taught my self how to fillet, i can get one row of bones out and thats good enough for me. I dont mind picking through for bones and I havent choked on a bone yet. I love fishing, from the two fish I caught today I have over 8 meals for my self. It may cost 100$ in gas to go but it sure is fun and if you get your fish you can eat many meals. The fish bodies make for good cat food, we just throw them a fish at a time and the have what to eat.

Quadded through that area but never actually been there. I know beehan, wyou, and clyde are all connected by a creek. All those skeg lakes have big fish.

Google it learn the technique and start to practice will take a while to perfect but the size of the fish your catching makes it easier.
