2005 RT Summit 1000 VS 2006 REV 800R!!! WEIGHT and HP! on going TESTING!
After reading many treads about how bad the RT1000 is... and hearing over and over and over again from others. I decided to go about researching and testing my own semi-stock RT 1000 162'
I loaded up the sled this afternoon and hauled it to the local dumpsite here in Camrose. I then tried to convince the lady running the scales to let me weight my sled. She replied "for a pack of smokes delivered" !!! ya thats right, she went THERE!!! lol...So I then preceeded to go back to town and get her a pack. I also took her picture so you know what kind of women works at the local garbage site and wants smokes! you will see below!
After unloading it and realizing I forgot to fill up my sled I then took a look at how much fuel I had in the sled so i could calculate how much it will weigh WET!
Anyways to make this quick I calculated I had a 1/3rd of a tank giving me 2/3rd's missing at 10.4 gallons (fuel capaciy) X 2/3rd's = 6.9 gallons missing.
The average gallon of gas weighs approx 6 lbs per gallon. giving us a missing fuel weight of 41.5 lbs.
my sled weighed in at........... wait for it wait for it!
550 lbs
now add my missing fuel that is a GRAND TOTAL of :
591 LBS soaking wet!
Yes kids thats with oil, spark plugs, a belt, anti-freeze etc.
So That is step 1 of 4 to come! Stay tuned for the weighing of my buddies 2006 REV
and our Drinking Dyno track test! We are gonna drink some beer and get to the bottom of how much horsepower these sleds truly have! I think you guys/girls are gonna be surpirsed by some numbers!
