Thanks Phil, we will need to borrow it. I think we have a major problem and will need new gaskets, piston and rings as compression was low (75psi) and we have air (exhaust) coming into the coolant bottle.

Sounds like You are correct but the low compression could be caused by the leaking head gasket.Sounds like you'll have to take it apart and see what the rings are like.Then you can replace the cylinder lower gasket as well.Remember to put sealer on the cylinder bolts as you could have a coolant leak into the crankcase later that could take out your bottom end.
You really over heated it on Saturday.Hopefully You didn't warp the head as it would have to be machined flat.Better measure it when it's apart.

Well, night 3 was a success, found out what the problem was, now its just a matter of ordering parts and slapping it back together, if we can remeber how that goes?!

Looks like wire broke for thermostat, causing fan not to come on, causing overheating, causing head gasket to melt, causing piston to melt causing rings to seize...

Polaris parts guys will love me today!

Looks like parts will not be in until Thursday, if I am lucky. So perhaps we will have a Thursday night Ride this week?:confused:


Thursday? Well thats no good! Are we still gonna have a couple of pops tonight? I need to drop some parts off to TKO anyway

The shop is always open we can just help ourselfs to the food and beverage. but if he gets all whinny I know a shop with an ice maker fridge and better lighting, but liquid deit only:d:beer:
