CABO SAN LUCAS HIT BY HURRICANE ODILE......

Monday, September 15, 2014, 4:41 PM - Thousands of evacuees have taken shelter from Hurricane Odile as torrential rain and strong winds pound the northwest coast of Mexico.
Odile has been downgraded to a Category 1 hurricane since making landfall Sunday evening -- but the storm continues to cause significant damage.

Winds of up to 175 kilometres per hour have uprooted trees while heavy rain has flooded out luxury resorts in the area.
"Powerful storms in this part of the world aren't out of the ordinary," says Weather Network meteorologist Brett Solderholm, "however, this is one of the most powerful storms to make landfall in the region since 1967."

The U.S. National Hurricane Center is warning of the potential for "life-threatening" floods over the next few days.
The storm is expected to weaken over the next 48 hours.
No injuries have been reported and the extent of the damage is largely unknown -- but social media has been inundated with images of Odile.

spent yesterday and last night on the boat, was 22C @ 6pm, Was sitting on Doc's deck by the fire until 11 and it was still T-shirt weather.

Strong winds came up around 10:45 pm and chased me home, was a little nervous about having to beach the boat in the dark in high winds.

Nice out there now temperature wise 17C, but the wind can fawk off anytime.
