What do you do with the water from snow in garage if you do not have a floor drain?

Sick of the whole floor soaked, even when it rains and a wet car is parked in it.

Any cardboard box on floor is garbage.

That works well? How fast will it fill a pail?

it works pretty good, in the winter I don't get moisture on the windows or on the overhead door, depends on humidity, I check and dump it every couple of days in winter, if you buy one get the one that you set what humidity you want to maintain and it runs when needed only, they cost more but are worth it. I still mop the standing water though

Sloped garages are so useless that really sucks. The solution we found is these big rubber matts with lips around the edge. I will try and find the brand but I think garage strategies sells them. Anyways drive on let vehicle melt drive off and you can pull it outside and drain it off.

Hmmm my parents sloped garage works well but they have infloor heat... I do not...

Ive seen those mats. The vehicles im not tooo worried about but my garage is an L shape 2.5 car and the portion where the sleds goes is my main concern.... Maybe ill get one of those mats for just there.

Thanks.

The best thing I did was slope it all to the middle and auger a hole about 10 ft deep and fill with washed rock and a metal grate over it never have to worry about water again

I went there with a tape measure. All sloped very well. Sloped away from walls as well as its sloped 3" from back to front of garage and the 1/2 bay has a 2" from back to garage.

Im actually happy with it now even with no sump pit but ill run a dehumidifier and a catch mat under my sleds and it should be fine. My dad said he even has to squeegee his floor so it isnt the cats ass like i thought.

Not worried about it under mining your garage?

you know I never really gave that any thought lol oh well sold that place so not my problem now but I don't thing it would undermine it with the gravel in place ... its not like a river runs thru it

I use the mats as well and they work great. After a melt I just suck up the water with a shop vac! If you have a co-op around that is where I got mine. One for each vehicle.

Surround the wet object in blankets/towels then wring them out afterwards. Has worked for me for years.

Hmmm the whole May not be the best way if building. But if you drilled down 10' and put in the washed to let it drain and also let keep it from collapsing I wouldn't worry overly about undermining it. But maybe drilling it and putting in a perforated pipe in and then filling with washed rock would work. But still in the long run could cause problems.

Personally I would cut a 4" trench in the concrete out to a wall sloped to the outside. Do a Core from the outside to tie into the trench ( or if you want the easy out just chip it out lower than the trench..... Dig a pit outside. And fill with washed rock down to the weeping tile

my garage is 28 feet deep and i put a 1 inch slope in the floor running out the overhead, harder when building the walls but has worked great for me,water runs to overhead door, and no the door has never frozen on me.1 inch slope in 28 feet you dont even notice when in garage
