Not saying you have to walk around White Ave helping homeless people or avoid everyone like the plague, but here are some things to think about - from one small town boy who made the leap to the big city about 10 yrs ago to another about to take that same leap. Mom and Dad have raised a good kid, and you probably know these already but here's my words of wisdom (they are few and far between so take them for what they are worth - even if they sound like 80's movies cliches) .

Make sure that you hide your valuables well (do not leave them in your car, etc), keep an eye on friends when you are out, always remember that someone wanting your trust has to earn it first - lots of people looking to take advantage of those less "city savvy".

Keep your nose clean, always represent yourself well, and always be honest and true. Even in the big city, people still value respect, determination, strong character and hard work. The small town values that you have grown up with are still very much recognized and will not be lost on people there.
