Out of curiosity now...I have to ask. Is leaving a sled ramp placed out really that big of a deal like kimrick is making it seem? I'm new to the sled deck world, but 90% of trucks I've seen since I got into sledding all leave their ramps out.

Depending on the area, room available etc I leave my ramp out locked to my deck, but I've started heaving it on top of my deck and locking it up there so no one runs it over.

What is sled deck ramp parking lot etiquette?

I leave mine out, unlocked, or I'll throw it on the deck, rarely do I put it away, don't have a locking tailgate on the truck anyways. Also figure if I leave it out people will at least park a bit further back, leaving me room to load back up.

Every situation is a bit different, but when the parking area allows, I'll leave mine out. It acts as a bit of a guide for the next truck rolling in to allow me enough room to load machines. I also have no problem with somebody using it if needed. If the scumbags are trolling, it's going to go missing regardless....I'd sooner have them grab it and go, versus pulling it off the deck and down the side of my truck, or fawking up my tailgate to get it out.

Depends where I am and how much room is there. If I'm in BC, not a friggen chance I'll leave it out. I put it back under and lock the tailgate. I also have a bike lock that I can secure it to the deck with.

X2 exactly. Sitting on the deck or even still on the back really only takes up 6 more feet. Which is still shorter than ANY truck or SUV with even a 2 place trailer. We do not expect trucks with trailers to un hook and park beside each other.
I used to put my ramp right away until I had 2 experiences where the staging area was full and we were parking down the road. I got boxed in and had to pull out just to have room to load. Haha and then I got sh*t for taking too much of the road to load.!

I put mine away at the staging area But then some one jams in behind me. Not a huge deal to pull the truck ahead either. Usually there's lots of room to move in the late afternoon when we get back
