Atv classified’s are pretty slow. Figured id post here for traffic.

As the title goes, I’m searching high and low for a 1985+ Honda big red 250ES trike. These things are getting pretty hard to find in decent-ish shape for a decent dollar. Not looking for a show piece or one comparable to the pictured worth 5k. Someone has to know where ones sitting.

Pic of a fancy one for attention.

Good luck. For the last 3 years I have been looking for a 250r and 350x. Just don’t want to pay 6 grand.

Oh I’ll find one. I’ve already got a pretty clean 85 250r. Bought it when I was 17. It was rough back then, but it’s come a long ways.

If you don’t want to pay, you’ll be looking for awhile, unless the right word of mouth barn find comes your way. $4000 gets you a half way decent 350x and $5000 for a liquid R. Prices are doing nothing but climbing. I thought there would be some sort of market crash, but it’s yet to happen.

I talked with you on messenger. They’re out there. All depends on how much effort you want to out into it. Said you aren’t scared of pulling wrenches. Find a rough one. Lots to be had for $1000 or less. As long as it has a good frame and a complete engine that preferably runs. Has good forks that aren’t pitted, and the rest is easy. It’ll be a given, you’ll have to do bearings, brakes and cables on whatever you get. Rest is cosmetic.

Thanks for your input Northern Bear, muchly appreciated Sir. I’ll track down Thorsby Dawson as well. I like pulling wrenches. Just gotta find a good unit to give a new lease on life. I’m actually quite excited to tear into one.

Tripster, that’s a ways travel! Though I’ve done worse! Went from Camrose to Vancouver and back overnight over the Christmas holidays for a Turbo kit. Sometimes you just Gotta make the Miles eh!

Oh man that ATC in the OP pic made me droooool.....
I bought this 85/250/SX new, i was 16. Worked part time after school at the Hudson Bay as a utility man, 2hrs every day after school. Took 2 years to pay off the loan.
Was insured up to 2012 and then my company dropped me. Now the only insurance I can get is Facility (lloyds of london) and $808/yr.
So now it stays around my summer cabin and use it to tow stuff around in the yard, launch/remove seadoo's and small fishin boat, carry inverter for powertools, etc.

There are insurance companies that will still insure them. Cooperators being one of them. Just need an existing auto policy, as they won’t do stand alone.
