So as many of you know, getting a campsite in the parks is pretty hard unless you book the day it opens. This year even more so with the free pass. The majority of the problem appears to be the rental motorhomes that stay one night and move on.
But anyway.
I reserved a bunch of sites, and it turns out we are unable to go for one of them. It is site 53J in Whistlers campground, arriving Thursday July 13 and departing Monday July 17. 30 amp power, water and sewer. No fire pit, but propane fires are fine. For a nominal fee I can cancel, or transfer to someone else. If those dates work for someone, let me know and we can work something out.

Been to Whistlers three times this summer already. If you look online it shows everything booked for almost the entire summer. Each time we have been there multiple premium sites are sitting empty. No one shows up. What an absolute pisser for people who actually want to go camping with their families. Spoke to the peeps at the front desk about it and they say they don't want to give away the booked sites that are empty "just in case the people show up at some point". What a crock of #(&%&. No show a day later should = no site for you. They need to look at their no show policies again for sure.

End of rant........

Good on you Lenny for offering it up to the peeps here!

Yeah, the park obviously doesn't care as long as they get their money. But we have been quite surprised by the number of vacant spaces as well. Frustrating when you want to go, but can't because either there is absolutely nothing, or you have to move sites every day.

I think something they should look into is not assigning a specific site unless you are staying 2 or 3 nights or more. You could still reserve the amenities you want, but site would be assigned upon check in.

Thank the new reservation process and all the tourism and RV rental companies that buy those spots to include in packages. I could understand setting maybe half of the spots aside but the new reservation system SUCKS! I don't know what I'm dooing next week, planning a camping trip on Jan 1'st or whenever reservations open is impossible for me and everyone I know. Half the spots should be first come first served
