Room for everyone that shows up, it may take a few minutes longer with a large group, but that's ok. Yes nice weather would be a good thing, at least the snow is melting at a good rate now...
I'll be out this weekend to check on the trail and hopefully move most of the winter's deadfall off the trail.

I hope everyone reads this, becuase of more people than expected coming along for the ride we will have to meet at the Petro-Canada restarunt, as it has more parking for guys with trailers etc. Will still be at 8:30 am the 18th, however if you wish to sit down and have a full breakfast, try to show up early so that we can leave town no later than 9am. For those that want fast food to grab & run A&W, Mcdonalds are closeby and Subway is on the way out of town. If any of you have trouble finding us or have problems on the road etc. call my cell at 403-845-0435.

Alot of the trail is ok and has had lots of traffic ,pretty easy going, but
Yes in some areas there is alot of snow out there !!!! Myself and a friend just got back, we went from Horburg to almost to the Jackfish lake road. Once we got closer to the Jackfish lake road, nobody had been there all winter and the snow got DEEP (almost to my knees) i was pushing snow right up to just under my lights. Pushed the bikes hard (used a full tank of fuel in about 45 km). We managed to get almost all the bent over trees cleared away. On the 18th we might not be able to get much farther than that area as i don't think anybody has been west of there all winter. I will go out again 1 day this weekend and see how much farther i can blaze trail, once i chew through it and then it has a week to thaw down, it should be not too bad.
Just because of the snow & ice depth i would not bring a non 4wd machine.

Yes Medler i just got back an hour or so ago, i went out by myself today and made it all the way through!!!! It was a fair bit of work, tons of chainsaw work and in some spots alot of snow. Yesterday we where lucky enough to find a bypass route around one of the really steep snowy hills, it was a bit of a problem in summer when it got wet as well. This spring i have been all the way from Horburg to Nordegg now, so it is all passable however I WOULD NOT BRING A SIDE BY SIDE or 2wd becuase of the amount of snow, the side by sides would be too wide for the trail through the snow, they will easily fit when the snow is gone. I will do more runs out there during the summer when the side by sides and 2wd's can come.
We should be able to make it without too much trouble now (may still be tricky getting up a few of the hills with snow & ice on them), but i think it'll be ok. A little bit of extra gas wouldn't hurt as the machines will suck a bit extra if we have to do any spinning in the snow etc.
