VP Fuel C111 good or bad

I herd that the VP C111 is a blended fuel and isn't very good for 2 stroke turbo's. I am not sure so I thought I would throw this post out there and see is there is any truth to this. I have herd that guys with the turbos on the 2 strokes have had some problems with this fuel and causing some of teh turbos to blow up.
Any help or if anyone has any facts on this would be appreicated.

I thought it was blended for winter use has worked fine on my bb for years talk to Eric at Speciallty he'll know

Its a good fuel. Too often guys cheap out and try and run less race gas than they actually need. Or get up the hill and want to show off so they jack the boost and don't have enough octane, but run it anyway because they think they are "at altitude". Motor blows up and they blame the fuel instead of their lack of knowledge.

Understand all of that. I know my system and have it running really well but just herd that from some guys who work on and build the turbos. I am running 50/50 in my m1000 turbo, and just wondering if there is a better race fuel on the market.
Mine is the BD PG and just wanted to run 50/50 till i got it dial in, and now that I have i dont want to run 50/50 anymore. So I am thinking of running it like 75/25 as I think the 50/50 is over kill and dont want to be running a fuel that isnt right. I know Husky fuel has the ethonal in it and causes the sleds to run a little leaner so that is why i was asking about the blended c111 fuel.

Pretty sure this is corect, when I bought some from Jordan here in Calgary he said its a blend that works for winter and 2 stroke, I think he said they can order any blend they want, VP has so many fuel combinations

Yep - snowseeker if its just the "blended" part you are looking for information on, call Jordan, he's good to deal with. My understanding is the same as these guys - just a winter additive. Don't think its ethanol.

I don't think its causing turbos to blow up though, I know lots of guys running this fuel with no problems. Who's telling you that?

Official spec fuel if the IHRA, official spec fuel of the NHRA, official spec fuel of the IHBA, official spec fuel of the ADRA, AHDRA, plus numerous circle track associations, road racing associations, etc etc etc.

I was going to post your question to the tech experts at VP to get you a formal response but the tech website is down right now. I'd bet $$$ that its not just "hopped up pump gas" though..... LOL

I would think that if its good enough for a 5000+ HP dragster pushing 50-60 psi blower pressures, its probably good enough for your sled....just sayin'... ;)

used both sunoco and VP i find sunoco burns better (less sut in exhaust) in the yamaha no idea on the pussy cats.

Boondocker recommends sunoco as they think vp has "quality" issues. I burnt 5 tanks of 111 at the start of the season and noticed kinda like a carbon residue around my plugs when I changed them. Now people have told me this before about 111 but i had no issues with it otherwise so I decided to try sunoco 110 and checked my plugs again after a few tanks but this time there was no residue, just tan brown. Like modman said Im sure 111 is good enough for what we need but for me its sunoco 110....just sharing my experiences.

I have another buddy who has been running 2 stroke turbos for 6 years now and he also trusts the Sunoco, he actualy personaly got tests done on both fuels, VPs problem is consitancy in the octane level is what he said to me, and usually its lower than stated so therefore on a boosted 2 stroke its important to get the right octane

I am sure VP is a leaded fuel aswell thats why it burns out A/F sensors... im sure sunoco isnt if you can buy it at the pumps or else they would be having major issues with vehicles in this day and age.

Hey guys...anybody know if it's a good idea to run 100LL AV gas rather than some of the more expensive race blends...i know it's less dense than race fuel so it may burn a touch leaner but it's low leaded, 100 motor octane, should be alright up to about 8 to 10 lbs??? any thoughts or experiences?

i run 100ll on my s/c apex with no issues this was on the advice of the guy i bought the sled from and it has been awesome so far you can buy it from any muny airport for about 1.42/l which is about what u pay for bc prem

Thanks for all the input guys I am going to try the sunco fuel and see how that is. I am out of my c111 except a tank maybe and I am going out this weekend so the Vp will be gone. I will buy some and try it,

Feedback on your change woul be awesome to hear!! I know a guy who is running straight c 116 for his turbo and have never herddd of anyone using the sunaco fuels. What are the price differances between VP and sunaco? and the availability of a dealer?

Think you can get sunoco through mountain magic in Edmonton. Never bought a 54 gallon drum of vp before but the sunoco 110 goes for about $650-$675 a drum

Just run ave gas, if your mixing vp111 and 92 works out to close to about 98octane so for ease just use ave(100). I ran my m8 on it and ran great. I now mix ave and 110 to get 105 for my m1000 turbo.
Are we going to kamploops????? also heard you had some issues with that vent kit, What happened?
