Voltage Toyhaulers - US dealers

Hey - has anyone bought a Voltage toy hauler from the US. I have been talking to Holman in Ohio but looking for others to compare.

Were going to do factory order on one this winter,Haven't decided on the model yet. Don't really want to buy dually to pull the tri-axle one but love the lay out in bigger ones better. Did lots of reading on the net on them, As usual there is more negative comments than there is positive, But research anything and its going to have that on trailers. We spent alot time looking at all the toy haulers and Voltage hands down wins my vote. The funny thing is were not buying it for toy hauler. They just seem to make more sense to are family needs for camping.

I was going to buy the Voltage 3905. After looking very carefully at it and the Fuzion 398 I chose the Fuzion. Price was not my main concern as the Fuzion was more $$. I took the comparison chart to the Fuzion dealer from keystone and 95% of what the Voltage trailers hacked was incorrect. By far I felt that this was the nicest trailer available. The fit and finish is amazing. I bought the 398 Touring Edition 3 painted black.

Do you really need a dually to pull the tri axle? I asked the sales rep that at Woody's and he said my 2011 Ford F350 would pull it just fine.

Echo your comments on the family. We are also looking not really as a toy hauler - just seems to work best for our family. Have you priced out in the US? 79k in Edmonton 63k delivered to border from the US. We think we are going to wait till August and I suspect they will be even less then from the US.

Can you elaborate? What was 'hacked'?

Ask your Voltage dealer in Edmonton (woodys I believe is who I called) They have a comparison chart they email/fax to you and seriously I took it to the Fuzion dealer here and he showed us all the improper comparisons such as, Insulation ratings, Heated garage, storage areas and many many other improper comparisons. The biggest one was that the garage is actually ducted from Fuzion and also has a Heat strip in the AC unit in the Garage (it has 2 AC's) On the sheet most options say N/A for the comparables to the Voltage which is incorrect. We looked for one for over a year and I feel nothing on the market has the fit/finish quality the Fuzion offers. I bought the 398 Touring Edition III with black painted finish. It was hard to find something that had the quality that the Arctic Fox I had before did.

You can pull one with a single rear F350 but I have lots of friends who have switched over to DRW's when pulling the 40ft plus Toy Haulers as when you hit a crosswind it really throws the SRW's around. I just picked up a 2011 F350 DRW and it pulls the 41ft better then my SRW did with my 30ft bumper pull Arctic Fox.

Depending on the model you get, the Pin weight will be pretty high. You'll be tight on a 350 SRW if you go w/ any 40' TH.
Don't plan on any trips to BC if your over the GVWR on your truck due to the Pin weight.

Consider Holemans or Lakeshore - you'll save a ton of cash if you do end up buying down there.

If your getting a TH delivered - just get it delivered straight to your door.
I just picked up a 2012 Cyclone - $2904 delivered to my door (plus 300 border agent)
Buddy got the Fuzion at the same time - 2250 delivered to Coutts. Cost me $950 more - but I didn't have to drive 14 hours there and back, wait in a parking lot for the delivery guy, pay for diesel and food and take a long day off work. (some other crazy stuff happened that made it more worth while - but that's another story)

The pleasures of a dually in this case is the footprint and load rating. The stabillity comparison is obviously in the dually's favor. Like allready said, the tire roll is almost none existant. Mines a quad cab long box and when loaded up it's a dream to drive. The wife is also very comfortable behind the wheel :d The only negative thing here is a single wheel does have a smoother ride when not pulling. Not as stiff as a dually, but it's all in the way you drive.

BTW..I added air bags also for even more stability.

Not knocking you in anyway but the sales Reps at most RV dealerships will tell you that you could pull that trailer with an F-150 if they think they can get the sale...lol. But seriously most of these salesmen know very little about tow ratings on trucks...do some research yourself and be sure before you purchase.

i just pulled this trailer back from calgary today its a 40 foot toy hauler and my 2010 ford f 350 pulled it like a dream 120 plus on highway 2 had to look back to make sure it was there hahaha i always thought u needed a dually to pull these but after today i dont think so :d

I too was looking at the Voltage toy hauler's. I even sent off a email to the manufacturer to try and find a better deal, they came back at me with a price of 55k for a 3/4 ton towable 30 ft fifth wheel version out of Colorado, The price difference was huge between the voltage and comparable Keystone and Heartland toyhauler. I think next year the wife and i will put a order in for a cyclone by Heartland mfg. I can get one of those out of lakeshore rv in Michigan for around 40k after border, riv, and gst i will be into it for just under 45k, and the cheapest i found around here was 57k.

Hey haggis, mine will be delivered at the end of the week. 3905 loaded right up from holman's. Great place to deal with, so far. Have looking into the toy haulers for over a year and in my opinion the voltage fit and finish is second to none. The best way is go out and spend slot of time in the dealerships. It was pretty clear to me. Jim is my sales guy and I tell ya the price is almost laughable. I didn't know you could get it delivered to your door I am going to look into that tomorrow.

i can vouche for the stability issue i pull with a srw and when it gets windy the wife has nail marks in the holy ch!t handle

I ordered the Road Warrior 305 last summer from All Seasons RV had it delivered right to my door. Its 37 foot dual axles pulls really nice but even at that size your limited to the campsites you can fit into. Still fits a side by side or hauls all the kids toys around.

Just finished the deal from lakeshore on a 3800c cyclone....3200 bucks to my door. They even did the financing....it was the most pleasurable experience I have ever had buying anything....similar models were 15k more that I paid in the US. I did see that the canadian dealers are finally lowering there prices somewhat to match...saw a cyclone the other day for 59900 plus gst plus plus...ect....I am sure you get the drift here....

I will do this again...now if I could only finda commander state side to throw in the back. Anyone have conections they would like to share on this.....I will gladly help anyone else on the purchase of a toyhauler state side.
