On Friday I had a small issue and when I left the site the cop ran my plate and called me to say the my plates had expired in January. She said it is a $300.00 fine and the truck towed. When I went to the motor vehicle place the girl said the government had or will be stopping to send out notices. So maybe just check you plate. I put reminder into my phone to renew my plates.
Another NDP issue??

Weird. Every June I get a notice in the mail saying my plates are due in July. Whats even weirder is that it hasn't changed since I first got a car to register. And thats 20 years ago. AND the cops have been doing that BEFORE the NDP got in. I know...weird.
They also have these stickers on the plates that when you register a vehicle in the top left corner (left when your looking at the color side of the plate) that says when your plate is due. AND depending on the year, the bottom one tells you what year its good for.
Been like this for how many years, quit blaming the NDP for childish issues that has been law for many many years.

I renew mine for two years, got my notice in July that they were due in August. All good till 2017 now (except off highway vehicles, those are only 1 year renewals)

Just kidding about blaming the NDP. Got my quad registration in the mail but nothing for my truck.

Be glad you only got a $300 ticket, buddy who bought my truck a year ago forgot to renew his plates, got pulled over on the way to work, $850 unlicensed vehicle, got towed, impounded, and missed work. Well over $1,300 when it was all said and done.

How do people forget one of the most Important things that hauls your Ass around from point A to B. Makes me wonder if they even do regular oil changes/maitenance.

Give the guy a break I can see how it's easy to forget, especially if you have multiple vehicles and renew for 2 years at a time. Plus if your used to the letters you probably never think about it and just assume it's good since you haven't gotten a letter.

I agree. I've been getting a letter for, um.....32 years now. If I never got it, I'd probably drive around with expired plates too....

I'm the worst at this stuff. We have a few vehicles, and my husband takes care of all of it... BUT I actually remembered this year before him. I'm taking that as a personal victory. ha

You could blame NDP. ...but that would be a mistake since it's clearly a warranty issue. :)

I have forgotten as well as the gf forgotten to register on time before. And I don't really consider either of us to be overly stoopid. Life is busy and sometimes things get over looked. We have one vehicle that doesn't get used often and if we didn't get the notice to renew in the mail we would likely forget and get tagged while out camping or something. But that's ok let's pounce on this guy for letting us know we may not be getting reminders in the mail anymore and sharing his story on how he found out.

They send out the notice a month in advance. I put the notice in a safe place so I won't forget to renew.

Then I forget where I put it and usually find it a month after I should have renewed !!!!!!
