saturday april 21st. went sledding in at the calazon. returned to trucks and found that all the trucks had been broken into. smashed windows busted door locks ,dented doors /body , stolen wallets ,phones ,clothes, electronics. silver sands was also hit , not enough snow left to park at mt. solitude so the guys parked on the other side of the hiway, with the same result as ours . beaver creek /powder king were seemed to be okay . if anybody seen any strange vehicles or activity at the parking lot shoot me a pm . and beware of what you are leaving in your trucks when you leave it unattended for a day of sledding .

We rode Powder King on Easter weekend and I was worried all day about what we might come back to. We were lucky. Little falkers..... sorry for your loss. My son travels the pass once a week , he works in Tumbler. I will tell him to keep an eye out. He and his friends would have a good time with thieves LOL. Good way for them to get rid of all that pent up energy.

It would be nice to see the police take and active interest in this. Easy problem to solve when you know exactly when and where the crime is going to be. They might even gain some much needed respect back. A couple of bush cameras in the right spots and problems solved.

when we reported this to the chetwynd rcmp they were pretty descent about everything but they sure don"t do much about property crimes. could have been finger prints on the doors etc. ,but all they did was take some pics and noted what was damaged and stolen . we got a file # and we ere on our way .no trip out to the parking lot either , not enough man power or resources they said .

Sorry to hear about this. After I got broke into several years back I minimize my risk by not having much in my vehicle, bringing my wallet with me on the hill and I don't lock my truck anymore. They can go through and look at nothing, if they want to steal the truck take the whole thing. At least I don't come back to broken windows or holes in my doors by my door locks.

I hear ya, after 27 years in the hills, the past two I have thought about giving up my favorite past time, among other things trying to enjoy the day is hard when your thinking about your property sitting in the parking lot getting vandalized. Next year I may try to have the ugliest truck in the lot, and enjoy my day on the hill:eek:

Very good idea to leave your truck unlocked, but do not have to fancy of a sled deck or trailer either. They steal them.

I'm very sorry to hear about your bad luck.I feel about the same that mach123 does,it doesnt
make a guy feel very good when you go to the RC's about a problem like this and they dont
take prints and ect.The whole system needs an overhaul, top to bottom.
If the little buggers were caught, probation would most likely be in there future. BIG DEAL.
Then if you put in a claim to repair the damages these buggers did, your insurance will go up.

It sucks for sure. I hate that it happens and would love to see some of these guys get some sort of reprimand (either public or personal). We had a break in up in our shop yard in Fort Nelson, The RCMP came out and went through everything, took the video footage etc, when we asked about taking prints he said that when it is outside in the elements the chances of getting a print that is usable is slim to none. Not sure about the validity of those comments but it is what we were told.

My son in law had his stuff stolen and it turned out the low lives used his credit card to pay for their own cell phone bills. 3 years now and the police have done absolutely nothing to arrest these bastards. It is probably the same idiots who hit you, so if your credit cards are used don't expect any results. Of coarse there is the other alternative, catch the guys and beat the snot out of them, then waste 5000 dollars paying for a lawyer because you are arrested. Good luck taking a vacation after that.... something has to change. So next time they tell you they do not have enough man power.....lose it on them.

Ok I get that there is limited manpower but............ These people who steal our stuff are usually addicted to something or have some other problem, so if the RCMP do nothing about property crimes then they are letting this multipy. I don't understand how they can put no effort out when this effects us all , we pay their goverment wages, we pay the increase in our insurance, we pay for the criminals to get a lawyer and we pay for their time in jail and plus , plus and plus some more. So if the RCMP just ignore this, it will continue to be a growing crime trend. Sorry for the long vent but really what a waste of taxpayers money.

I really hope that you get some sort of justice for this.
