I can't believe the prices of these sleds out there right now, especially in Alberta. It does look like that is the going rate but if you look in BC you will find they are less expensive. You can almost pick up a REV for that money. Goodluck.

That's insane I think, a fair price would be $2500-$3000.

Everything is insanely overpriced here, just part of living in AB.

I picked one up for a buddy last season, cosmetic damage worth a few hundy but brand new TRA primary, 2.25" by 16"w track, 151" x package for 2500...he was asking 3K but after pointing out the obvious problems he accepted the offer. if it was mint I would say they are worth 3K, maybe 3500....

Re: Vaule of a 2003 800 summit

What they are asking and what they are worth are 2 different beings altogether....

$4000 is typical low for the 01/03 800's.... $44-4700 is average... and the guys with the low km excellent condition ones are asking $48-$5800.

Not sure what the final sale prices are but the only one I found for under $3500 was Maxwells old one with the kinked tunnel for $3000

I ended up buying a 99 670x for $2500.... even for the 670's guys still want $28-$4000... and most are hard firm on thier price....

Lots of sleds aren't moving, same ad's over and over but the sellers refuse to face the reality that sleds depreciate in value and you can't sell a 2001 800 for the same price as you bought it for 4 years ago....

28-4000$ for a 670 is insane! I sold my perfect running 670x for $1500 a few months back.

BC is were it is at...lol. I didn't want to say what I got the GF's 03 800 Summit Highmark for. It wasn't perfect but cleaned up well. Can you say $1900....lol. yup that's right.
I am thinking about borrowing an enclosed trailer and filling it to the roof with sleds and heading to Alberta to Double my money...
Never buy a sled on an impluse wait for the right deal, they are out there. A friend just bought a 2000 summit 800 on saturday from a guy that had it sitting in the back yard under 2 feet of snow for $1000.

I would say for $3000-3500 you get a kinda beat one, for $3500-4000 good shape, and anything over $4500 is just a waist of money.

Picked up a 2003 Summit 800HO back in October for $3500 out of Calgary.. rode it 250kms and the motor blew due to a crack carb boot.. awesome! seemed like a good deal at the time since it had a new factory shortblock.. but just watch what you buy.

Snow and Mud, FAIL!
