I'm not whining. Just shocked there is 14 pages of this!! What do I have to whine about? Life is great except I can't ride until the 24th
I was referring to those that started the thread, not you Mattiac, kind of the same point you were making but from the other side.(heading for Valemount tonite).

It's funny that guys that think it's ok do drive a buck forty down the mountain highways in the winter pulling a four place trailer get all pissy when someone gets pulled over during a snowstorm. All of a sudden safety is a big concern.

Duh.. Didnt anyone tell you?! Its SAFE to do that as long as you have a lifted diesel.

White sunglasses are only a pre-requiset... If you are wearing an Ed-Hardy shirt with a dragon or tiger... with sparkles on it you can leave the white sunglasses out. White sunglasses are only required in "EXTREME COOL MODE" passing vehicles almost killing everyone pulling a four place when there is a line of of a hundred cars in front of you going through jasper... THEN you need white sunglasses.

Wow can't believe how many posts and threads are on this site about driving lights and HID...Everyone should just drive the highways without any headlights period...1 flashlight on the dash or 2 candles (drivers choice) then nobody would have hurt feelings or be blinded when passing other vehicles. Lol Just sayin.....

I've got the up most respect for cops as long as they are not on a power trip. Everyone has done something l break te law at some point in their life. Whether it be speeding tinted windows HID lights NO mud flaps had a beer or two and got behind the wheel unsecure loads not wearing your seatbelt whatever the case may be, many of those are a hazard to everyone else on the road. No sense preaching to each other about this stupid issue.

True statement....except for MAGNET....he has never broken any laws and has led a stellar life. That gives him the right to preach to the rest of us and call us a**holes.

moral of the story, if you don't like the laws......... Stay the hell out!!

I got a warning in Clearwater, during broad daylight, that I needed covers on the 4 PIAA's I have on the front of my truck. With BC plates, even!!! The officer was very nice about it, just explained that I need covers on them. He even asked how I had them wired in. Which is I can control them by toggle switch and high beam switch, depending how I have the toggles. Thats the law, and it makes perfect sense.

Again, if you don't like it, we won't miss you.

If your Piaa are the 510 or the 520, those are road legal. Both are dot approved and you should not have been told to put covers on them.

not on hear to comment about the HID lights as I dont own them or know enough one way or another. But I do own a lifted diesel and no it is not a "working" truck or a grocery getter. It is my daily commute truck and love it. I love the looks of them and bought it during my upcoming andropause days as a way of reliving my youth :) Anyway, I drive respectively and more in less within the law (speeding) but I hate being painted with the same brush as some of the idiotic losers showing no respect to others just because I drive one. Maybe it is not for you, but then again sledding is not for the majority of the population but we take exception to them saying we are all red necks because we ride. Just my rant

I know this is going to sound nit picky, but in the province of BC you are incorrect. You are only allowed to have one pair of auxillary lights on your vehicle, so if you already have fog lights or legal driving lights from the factory, all other lights must be covered on the highway even if they are DOT approved. Nit picky yes, but another in a long list of driving light laws they can nail you with.

I have HID headlights and i am willing to pay the ticket if i receive one. I'm willing to accept the consequences from the RCMP but i don't need to hear people whine and complain about my lights being to bright if i am going to buck up and pay the fine. If they are to bright for your eyes you cannot focus on the road.. you definitely should not be on the road yourself. Leave 3 hours earlier so you don't have to drive at night.

Dont bother coming to BC, those tickets for illegal lights also come with a remove before next dispatch if your a commercial vehicle or remove within 36 hours if your a private vehicle. The vehicle must have an inspection done to prove the lights are gone at your expense, if the order is not followed the vehicle will be impounded.

As for the rest of your statement, just proves your an a$$hat in my eyes. Its ok to blind people on the road, yup, there poor drivers because your a selfish idiot, yup, others cant drive if they cant take your lights, yup.

And what about the guys who work for a living, have to spend 12 plus hours a night on the highway putting up with you idiots, just remember, if one of the 18 wheelers gets blinded and veers towards your lane, your going to lose the battle, not them.
