The pictures do the talking. One of the parking lot pics is from yesterday and one today. Its amazing what fell last night and is still falling south of town.

90cm packed base flat

Min 50cm on top of that from last night.

The trail is in great shape, alhough someone tore down our fence on the new trail, Its for the good of everyone, I just dont understand.:nono:

Great snow, come on up

Re: Valemount Conditions

I have to admit that today at about 3 pm I was on my way to Mcbride(home) and went by Mil. and Allan and there was at least 2 feet of fresh in the parking lots and people where stuck. Looks like great snow. Barry- Mountain Haven B&B

Re: Valemount Conditions

Well this time of year thise crossfires are going to struggle. A 136 just aint gonna cut er in 2 to 3 feet of fresh. Go to Allan its a short trail and lots of good riding.

I'd get hold of Curtis (Depsnolvr) he works for VARDA or some other guide to show you around. Wouldn't go to the hills without at least one experienced guy in the group too easy to get lost or into trouble.

Re: Valemount Conditions

I would suggest Clemina if your going up with a bunch of newbies,The trail in is longer but if they dont open the new trail up the switchbacks might scare ya off and there is a lot more trouble at Allan for newbies. If the powder is deep you may have a easier time getting aroung Clemina with the short tracks.
Just my two cents!

I second the Catman's opinion on not taking newbies, on short tracks into Allen.

Depsnolvr - Can anyone just go guiding or are the requirements to be a guide in Alberta (insurance, first aid, associations etc)...just curious?
