Is the middle pic avalanche alley? I’ve been to Allen a decent amount of time before but never knew any of the zones’ names

Here's the section at the end of avalanche alley that slid, and one of the riders involved.

I never understood why guys like to play in avy alley.
Looks like more avy courses are definitely needed, poor choices being made in those photos posted above.
The fresh snow is exciting, but that crust layer is not something to mess with.

About 8 years ago maybe this whole face broke loose as it did here and the rider got push 200m from the base into a tree and broke his leg. This can be an ok spot to stop quickly but not to play.

Coincidentally was doing AST2 last weekend with a group of guys who knew the group involved in that particular incident. Definitely not a safe spot given the conditions.

Spring conditions have quickly set in around here and we are losing access up the typical groomed trails quite fast.

While the snow may be melting fast on our groomed trails, fear not, good access is still possible for now. Unfortunately, due to dwindling snow levels, operations at Clemina have ceased, and Chappell Creek is soon to follow suit. However, good ol Allan Creek remains resilient, boasting excellent access with just a hint of bare terrain on the 3km hill.

The great news is that the alpine conditions are prime for spring riding and the sun is set to shine for the next several days.

We will continue to update on access as things change although they are changing quick. Keep an eye on the conditions page at ridevalemount.com for the most updated info.

So don't hesitate! Round up your crew, lock in your plans, and prepare for a trip to Valemount. If the temperatures stay warm and clear, there may not be much of winter left down low in the very near future. With good access still possible at Allan Creek, its time to burn that fuel out of sleds before they get put away.

At VARDA, we're dedicated to restoring Valemount to its rightful status as a sledding paradise after a few challenging seasons, and we couldn't do it without your support. Despite the challenges the past few years have brought, we're steaming ahead with enthusiasm, fueled by the stoke on all things outdoor recreation. As we put away one set of toys, we simply shift gears and grab another.

See you on the trails!

Unreal snow today at Allan Creek. We didn't even make it as far as the cabin until noon. Easy 3 feet of pow with 5-6+ft drifts.

Avalanche Alley was loaded and hadn't dropped yet, so we didn't travel far, but rode untouched all day. There was a group playing in the creek at the bottom of Avalanche Alley... It's spicy up there, play it safe!

That creek at Allan you mentioned had a Avy deposit 20’ deep in the winter of 1988-89,hardly recognized it after that massive slide.
