Hopefully when forecast says snow or rain that it's not rain down low for access will not be good. Hope locals let us know if access is any good

There were trucks in both Chappell and Allan parking lots when I went by yesterday. Thought for sure someone would post up a report.

Rode Allen Saturday and Sunday. The trail up on Saturday was in great shape, no spinning on the way up. Other than a soft base it was snow over the hood both days. It was socked all weekend so we never bothered going passed the old hill climb and honestly with the amount of snow we didn't need to. By Sunday night the trail coming down was starting to ice up at the mid elevation corners. Lower down the trail was starting to get thin. It was snowing heavy in the parking lot Sunday night so hopefully it was enough to freshen up the trail.

Not trying to pull away from conditions and and its probably been asked a bunch of times but cant seem to find much on here. What's the deal on accommodations in Vale with the pipeline crews in town? Can a guy still book rooms with 4-5 day notice? Is Mcbride having the same lodging issues?

I stayed at the BW this past Saturday / Sundday night. Booked 2 days before with no problems. Their does appear to be a bunch of pipeline crews staying there although it didn't seem full by any stretch.

I put up a post on that issue of hotels. As we get deeper in the season it may be more difficult to get hotels as there capacity has been greatly decreased. I did find the prices have increased a lot and they are rising again in January. I booked for December, January and February already.

I'll take my ice fishing tent and stay on your lot.

Sledded into the Mica area today on the Sand Creek Rd. Parked at km 2.5, good coverage from there for sleds. Was just out for a mellow poke so took the sleds up to 1300m then skinned to 1950m to see what was what in the area. Found 85cm of snow with strong SW winds. Snowed all day. Needs some more coverage but there are turns to be had, pending your Christmas tree skiing skills.

We rode Chappell creek today. Snow all the way from parking lot. Several creek ceosibgs. One In perticar is a little bit difficult. Some mud patch’s to go trough. Trails pretty bumpy but a lot better than expected. 2 1/2 to 3 1/2” fresh pow. Visibility was quite now. It was snowing quite heavy when we got back to trick. A new Polaris 850 blue it’s engine 2 km into the spine. Brand new sled, first ride out, feel bad for the guy. Thanks to the guys from Cold lake that gave us a hand. It was a good day. Got back to truck and there was at least 3 1/2” of fresh snow in parking lot. Just heading back to Edmnton, nice long day but worth it.

Yes was good, many areas over waste deep snow, base is coming along great and there should be another large dump in there with the way it was snowing when we left. The one creek crossing is quite rough and the only way to get out is rope and many people pulling. Long ride home, left at 4 am got back at 12:20 am, but worth it. Just fired up the sauna, waiting for it to get to 50 degrees.
