Planning to head up with 3 adults, 2 kids, and a little dog. Is there an ATV friendly camp ground in close proximity to the staging area that you can recommend?

...would be nice to ride right from the camp ground to the staging area.

I will get back to you tomorrow in the a.m. from my office as it has the google earth files that i would like to send. Any of the three rec sites down the lake on the east side would be great for you. The closest one is 17km from the staging area, but its a good fsr road that would get you to the staging area. These would not have services though. If you require services, you should call me tomorrow morning at 250-566-4817. If you cant call tomorrow morning, I wont be in the office again until monday. tuesday i am heading to the international snowmobile congress, so I will be away for a while, but I will keep checking this thread and replying when I can

I will post some images and files for your info tomorrow

Thanks for the interest everyone:beer:

attached is the google earth file showing the campsites on the east side of the lake and the ride we intend to do. We will only get as high as the snow allows:d but its still a good time

Please call me at the office on monday, but like I stated, I will be away for most of next week at the International Snowmobile Congress, so I would have to get back to you then. You can also email any questions to varda@valemount.ca and I will get them on my phone

Went out and cleared the fallen trees etc off the trail today, the snow line is higher than last year at this point, so its going to be a great ride !

Hope some of you can make it out this Saturday

It was a great ride we did make it farther than last year. About 33 folks showed up and quite a few were visitors from out of town, which made it feel even better, thank you all for investing the time to come and next year will be even more fun and I will make a full day of it. And thank you all for your generous donations !:clap2:

After two of these rides, I learned that I will now change the lunch to be at the end of the day or included within the ride as it did seem to get us down a little quicker than needed, so Im learning as I go and I hope everyone had a great time:beer:

Yes the 650 outlander made it through that last snow stretch at the end of the session once most of us had left. To be fair some of those other quads were bada$$ and Im sure would have made it, if I did not rally everyone down for lunch:d

Ill throw up some pics on here and our facebook site once I get them from the photog later today !

Please dont hesitate to call or email with any other questions relating to the area in the summer from quadding, camping, fishing to other adventures

If the dates work out and you can give me enough notice, I would be more than happy to show you around, but at the same time, with 15min on the phone with me and a visit to our websites quadding section, you would also be good on your own.

Feel free to call 250-566-4817

it shouldn't be too difficult my dad drove us up there in a two wheel drive ford pickup in 1976. There are some steep sections and switch backs but you should have no problem on a quad. We drove up there several times in pickups.
