Well since its fall heres some more useless info:
Chloryphyll not to be mistaken with chloroform, is the green color in plants, it covers up the yelloow and orange pigments in leaves. When the tree stops making food in the fall to get ready for winter it stops making chloryphyll and then the yellow and orange colors that have been there the whole time start to be seen. The red colors only form when lots of sunlight changes the sugar left in the leaf to a red pigment. If a leaf has little sugar it turns brown.
