Yeah I don't think they are really trying to sell them. More of a way to get people into the show room. Most of the prices are way over what Bring a trailer is getting for cars, even when you factor in the exchange rate.

Looks pretty cheap to me. Try to build a frame off resto on a muscle car north of $200k will all the good stuff on it. Didn't know they sold classics might stop in and take a look.

My recent used truck story.
So looking for/somewhat needing to add a crew cab. New or used crew cab long box diesel doesn't exist anymore, find a short box version out in Edson, strike a deal over the phone and head out to take it for a spin. (Was going through anyway and my dad test drove it the week before). Yup truck is as advertised, ver clean, actually lady driven, ok milage for the year but then I got to thinking.... 89k plus warranty, plus an additional $4500 to bring it home, plus gst it's over 100k for a depreciating asset that doesn't make any money. Paying more than new price on a used vehicle is not something I can wrap my head around.
Here's my thoughts, we have rising interest rates, people in mortgages that got in at a sweet 1.5% who probably can't afford a refinance at 4-5%. Now according to stats Canada the average household income is $55,700 and the average home price is (depending on what news media site varies from 447k to 886k) but I will use $500,000 as the median price. Even with 100k down at 5% intrest it's almost 28k a year just in mortgage payments, add in a vehicle or two, taxes off the original 55k of household income, gas, power insurance etc etc there isn't anything left, zero. So people must be living off credit? My assumption is that in the next 3-5 years we are going to see a major housing correction in canada and many people are going to be left holding the bag on all these over priced toys and the average guy with a little bit of cash should be able to find some good deals for 50 cents on the dollar.

yes, I read on msnbc here in Canada onatario residents live with a 700 dolla month defecit......it is so sad EVERYONE cannot afford to live and keeps being social justice warrior

I put over 80 grand into my 65 C20 when it was restored.
The appraisal came in around 40,000.00
I've driven it through 4 winters. (I regret that now).
I'd be lucky to get 8grand for that truck the way it sits now.
You'll never get the money put into a restoration back.

Looks high to me. Playing the same game as August luxury cars in Kelowna.
It can't go that way. Any government that starts down that road will very quickly find itself replaced with a government that keeps the (illusion of the) good times rolling.

Those I got lots of. Lol.
When I 1st got it. Paid 2 grand for it. Had a 283, 4 spd with a 4:57 rear end.
Lots of rot.
The wood I the box was pretty much gone. I ran a sheet a plywood there for years.
Lots of bondo and spray foam in the rockers. Bondo on the fenders. And spray painted over.
Blew the 283. The #3 piston let go. Bent the rod cracked the block.
Couldn't give the truck away.
Decided to drop in a 350. Found a shop in Edmonton told me they could drop a crate 350, electronic ignition for less than 4 grand.
Like an idiot. I didn't get nothing in writing. I dropped my truck off. And when they called me cause it was done. I had a rebuilt 350, vortex heads. Upped to a 4bbl carb. No electronic ignition (was told the HEI wouldn't fit). No warranty because they reused my water pump, distributor, and fuel pump.

And I had a lot of issues with it. It still ran like garbage. Found an old mechanic through the car clubs. Took it to him. He said that the rebuild was absolute garbage. The fuel hose was not fuel hose and was collapsing on itself as the pump sucked.
The vacuum lines again the wrong material hose. He found my distributor was the problem.
I ended up putting in a Mallery distributor with MDS ignition. Fixed the list Rick gave me. And it ran again. Thristy tho. 4mpg.
Took it to Alberta drive line. They pulled my 4:57 diff off and installed a 3:73 diff from a 2000 Chevy 3/4 ton.
Fuel mileage hit 6 almost 7mpg. (6 point something).
At this point the body was bad. So I started buying replacement panels
I ordered most from LMC. Some from Brothers (the duties on the parts damn near doubled the price). Then I learned KMS can also order parts. So ordered a bunch from them as well.
Found a welder that wanted to try body work. Took the truck to him. He did a great job.
Then one of my Dad's buddies said he could paint it for me. So I took it to him.
And like an idiot I drove it. It went to Liard Hot Springs in Northern BC. All throughout BC. East to Brandon Manatoba then down to Mt Rushmore in South Dakota. It's been through Wyoming and Montana. And of course all over Alberta. I drove it year round. Didn't matter how cold it was rain, hail. It was used.
Now she's fairly pitted and rusty again.
The amount of accessories just ran to the battery posts is embarrassing I keep saying I'm going to rewire it one day.
Now I park it for the winter. (I'll pull it out for my Santa cruise. When it becomes the ChevroSleigh. Lol)
Two Years ago. 3rd and 4th got rebuilt in the transmission.

But she is a fun little truck to drive.
Keeps the miles off my '58 that way.
The old gals are worth every penny. Like a fine wine only get better with age. Looking for a 85 blazer at the moment, but always interested in a good deal. Never buying a new truck again. Going to bring it to rocking august in st albert?

That one no. Usually take my car to shows. The truck is more just to drive.
When is Rock'n'August?
Probably have the car out at Morinvilles show and shine on Sat. See how things go.
Either way I'd like to see that thing ! Reminds me of my grandfathers many many moons ago !
I believe rock n august is 1st week of august. Saturday eh ? I might have 30 hours off work and boot it down if it works out !!
