I thought I'd lost these pictures but I wasn't so lucky.
Last summer I was riding along the trail and my quad decided to self-combust. I wasn't able to put it out with the can of coke I had in the quad box nor my rain coat so she took a toasting It used to be an 07 800 can-am Outlander.
I think the cause was possibly a rock stuck in between the fuel tank and the tank shroud around it that wore a hole in the gas tank right near the exhaust pipe. I remember smelling gas earlier in the ride that day A combination of burning skeg off the pipe and leaking gas took her life. The only reason I came up with this theory was the fact that on my replacement quad (same make and model) I found a small rock stuck in the shroud and wearing a hole in the gas tank from vibration. Make sure your machines are not in danger of this happening.
