I got $12600 for my 13 XMX with a can. Buddy got $12700 for same sled but no can. Guess I gave away a can. Lol. Another buddy got $12500 for his 13' 154 XMX with 500 kms. Decent pricing for used 13's I think.

my 13 pro 163 went for $8400 with 3000km in the middle of the summer. Net difference was $4100. $4100/3000km = $1.37/km Not bad. If you can stay under $2/km I think you're doing good.

You can't really price it by km IMO because depreciation will factor in more in the first year than in subsequent years and condition of sled, model year, issues, time of year and how many are on the market when you sell also factor in. When the market is flooded, prices will always drop, and typically resales are much less in the spring and summer months. Some models you can't give away no matter what the time of year. If a sled has a replacement engine, the cost of that $/km probably doubled.

Sled prices have skyrocketed in recent years and now many people are financing on overly long contracts (5 yrs for a sled....cmon), which means after 3 yrs when they want to get out from under their huge "amount owing", the resale price is directly related to what they owe, whether they factor depreciation in or not at that point, very few people want to hear that when selling, but sucks to be them. If you are turning over any recreational toys on a sub-3 yr rotation but financing on a 5 yr plan, you better be fully expecting to take a bath on the resale and maybe lose a few grand in the process to have the latest model or tech. Some guys have good dealers and can flip a sled seasonally, and if you put on a decent amount of miles then its worth it to some. If they can afford it, great, their choice. But if they can't and then jack the resale to cover the debt, prices will reflect this accordingly.

At $2/km, on a 80 km day - that is $160 not including fuel/oil/transportation/maintenance/etc! I don't think a sled has ever cost me that much to ride per km, even when I was burning av gas.....

You guys must be true economists! Who would ever think about how much a kilometer to run a toy over the year?????

That's similar to the guys who are concerned with gas mileage on their sleds. Saying that, the eTecs are great in that department and I have noticed a huge difference but it doesn't deter me one way or the other.

When you sit in an office crunching dollar figures for a living, but wish you were out in the mountains sledding.... it just happens....
