I would not say the threats dont exists as there is always some nut out there willing to may the front page news regardless of their race/origin. However, I also think governments prefer to keep their citizens on their toes as fear = control.

Got the "underwear bomber" on trial right now. Was that not a threat? If it wasn't for all the money and time the military puts in, there would be WAY more successful attacks. I realize the US is broke, but defense is the last place to cut back spending.

I am still confused as to what they want to achieve with this fence. If a "bad guy" wants to get in he will find a way. I was watching a show on discovery the other night where the Columbian police along with US FBI agents were cracking down on cocaine plants. They were also showing these mini subs they built. One sub can carry 6 mt of cocaine worth 3/4 billion bucks. 10 days from Columbia to US coast line. They mentioned that since they can get cocaine into the US what stops a terrorist catching a ride. IMO the fence is simply a waste of money.

MY fix would be...
1. Very harsh punishment for any illegal caught. Not sure what, but don't just ship them back and let them try it again. Cut off a foot or something. They would be too scared to even try it then! Make them do it the LEGAL way. and learn English!

2. If you have to cut spending, do it with the millions of lazy azzes on welfare, if they want a check....make them work for it. Sweep the streets, road repair, whatever....don't just let them collect a check while sitting on the couch.
Quit giving billions to help rebuild and educate other countries. Start with the U.S. first!
And ramp up the death row process. No need for tax money to be spent on housing a serial killer on death row for 30 years.

I see a lot of people misunderstood my post.

9/11 would have still happened if this fence was in place. The underwear bomber, Oklahoma City bomber, Anthrax scare.... all would still happen with this fence. Yes there are a lot of people around the world that don't like the US and will try to take the war to them. But this fence isn't going to stop them.

Oh, and for illegals. Damn right you gotta watch them. Last time they let that go unchecked, the main language for North America turned into English!

Cutting off feet might be a bit harsh but all the other stuff...............Have you thought about running for office? I'd vote for you. Lol.
