well you could call brp but they will flag it for you then! If it's a serious problem make the trek and get it fixed. Welcome to Importing:d:d:d

A US BRP dealer won't sell to anyone w/o a US address.
Gotta love our taxpayer funded CND Manufacturer

I don't get it, this topic has been brought up many time over the last year or so and lots of people say "No warranty what so ever" and then other people chime in and say "call BRP, i did and got full warranty" can we get a solid answer please.

I did call BRP and had a case started. When the dealer denied warranty I gave them my case number and the guy's name at BRP that I talked to. I got warranty. This is what happened to me, I don't know if it happens all the time.

Can you tell us what the hassle was? if you don't mind, how much do you think you saved by importing?

Well i bought it unseen other that pics...So was a little learly but bought it from a dealer there...then had to give the border 72hr advance to crossing and the drive to Salt Lake....but u i did save a huge amount i paid 4800 for the sled. But then spent 10,000 in accessories lol

saved 4000 bucks, NOT a hassle, took 30 minutes at the border. The more you import, the better you get at it!!

That is true, I only had a problem once when the border guy thought he was the king of the world that night. So it took me a little longer, just don't bullch!t and you will be fine. I save 2800 plus all the extras that came with the sled....

For those of you who have imported and saved thousands, could you post the name of the shop where you bought your sled? I have been looking at some US dealers for skidoo summits and the price listed is not much different than the price at a canadian dealer. For me, shops in the northwest would be of benefit.

I bought a Gold Wing 2 yrs ago in Nebraska, saved half over prices up here.also a sled trailer that I paid too much for and a Tire machine for 1/4 price of Edmonton last fall, no troubles at all at the Coutts border.

Hey Kenvb, that is the best border crossing there is, I have went through 3 different ones. The worst is sweet grass some of those guys are want to be RCMP and can't make the force....Trailers best deals in great falls, sleds where ever they are hurting more, you just got to be ready with cash when something comes up.....

Coutts and Sweetgrass is the same border crossing, is it not? Coutts is Canada side and Sweetgrass is in Montana. Either way, I have brought 2 vehicles back through there, and had 2 completely different experiences. Once with the wife's new mini van, only took 20 minutes. The other was with my Freightliner, what a 4 hour pain in the azz.
