Pretty sure the refugee income is only valid for something like 1 year, then they lose most or all of it.

just what i have been saying for years, a large percentage of seniors(not all of them), need assistance for everyday expenses, just to stay alive. anyone want to try living on $1200 a month? and some want to make sure they pay large fees to ride a quad out n the trail/bush when they may be out trying to catch a fish for lunch, or go hungry again. :nono:

The problem with all of these types of information is the utter lack of fact on both sides. I openly detest Trudeau and Notley and am very quick to criticize them, however I also value integrity and would like to be able to base my points of view and opinions on factual information. Problem is that factual information is tough to find these days, Climate change is real but it's all a political farce and supporters on both sides of the argument can provide mountains of "documented scientific fact" to back their claims - how the fawk is that possible??????

The left will paint pictures of equal opportunity for all whether they deserve/willing to work for it or not all while preaching the doom and gloom of the worlds end if we don't stop utilizing petroleum products.

The right preach liberal policies will create economic turmoil for the middle class and socialist/communist idealism will lead to the fall of the free world.

Just show me some fawking facts and unbiased evidence on one side or the other, something I can read, mull over, digest and create my own informed opinion.

The PC's have their own history of train wrecks between Redford & Prentice now Rona Ambrose has surrounded herself in Controversy - I liked Harper - sure footed and steady - economically sound policies and an overall boring Economist - Lots of folks hated him but again none have been able to present me with evidence I could use to agree to their points....

I don't give a rats ass what a refugee gets when the government brings in a refugee. Anything is too much, and in fact bringing refugees to our shores is just a bad idea overall.
Its not that I'm that cold hearted, but if a country feels the need to support the opressed of the world, do it in the area of the world where the opressed already live. the adult Syrian refugees coming here will,in all likelihood, never be able to contribute to society. Keep them in the Middle East and provide for them there until they can go home.
There's enough poor or distressed people in this country already. We don't need to import more. And what frosts my ass more is that all these elitist do-gooders that are jumping on the bandwagon for these refugees would never walk down the street to help a struggling senior or single mom because it's not the trendy thing to do.

I agree. I've said for years why don't we send guns and bullets over there to help. They can fight their own fight just our ancestorsdid for our freedom.

Well another twenty something crossed the boarder illegally this weekend. Now Montreal has declared it's self a safe haven for undocumented illegals. When is this craziness going to stop

When sharia law is voted in and your daughters are banned from schooling and told to dress like a patio umbrella. That's when it will stop.

I won't comment on the refugee part of this thread. I will comment on the CPP part tho. I don't ever expect to receive CPP, or solely base my retirement on it. I'll work hard, put money into pension, RRSP, and TFSA so I can retire with money.

Trudeau says Canada has no core identity....that's a big FU to all seniors and builders of this land prior to mass non-white immigration in the late 1990s.
