good! although I assume there is a substantial supply available. still I think i like the way it is in Canada. guns as they say don't kill people! just makes the deed quicker. and I really have no idea why there is such an argument over US gun laws,

Big argument over US gun laws since it makes us feel morally superior. If we had the socio-economic problems the yanks do I'm pretty sure we would have a taste of the gun violence as well. 145 deaths in Alberta from Fentanyl so far this year yet we need gun control?

yes it may be.
but with a 10th of the population of the US, we seem to have a lot less than a 10th of the gun problems and crimes committed with guns in general. superior maybe not, feeling safer yes. actually safer no idea

Few weeks? Should be a day or two. Today is a holiday. So can't get paper work in till tomorrow So hoping for Thursday so I can hit the range this weekend

Should be, sure, but this is the RCMP we are talking about. If you receive your registration in the mail within 10 days of receiving your transfer notification (buyer) I would be surprised. And you can't transport it without the registration certificate.

Common price for a fully automatic firearm in USA, sold to a civilian, is somewhere around $12k USD.

Better start restricting cell phones too. Time to license owners, do background checks, mandatory waiting periods, etc.

Got my transfer notification at 09:30 this morning. Sent it on Tuesday morning. They must be getting speedy. And the ATT is attached to the my license now. Good to go

Agreed on the first parts. But what are the terms on your ATT? I don't have one of these new C42 ATTs but I expect it'll say something to the effect that you need the registration certificate to transport. And you don't have the reg yet. Transfer notification doesn't count.

Maybe we need to have machete laws, but that would probably discriminate against many of our immigrants that have broken so many laws already to be here, and their affordable weapon of choice.

Really, this guy could have afforded a gun. I just don't understand.

Yes. For sure.
They must do some back ground checks in the U.S. as well. Must be more to it than ID and and a credit card
They do background checks, and wait times. Now if you have a CCL you've already passed your background check and there isn't a wait time. Reason being You have to get a new background check every time you renew your license. I have mine and 30 minutes I could buy a gun and be carrying it legally down the street. No big deal. But I go through extra steps for my license to have the liberty so I can have that option and conceal carry.
_______________

Biggest problem we have is gun free zones. That's where the evil a-holes go. Guaranteed no resistance if everyone there is a law abiding citizen. I applaud the schools around here that allowed the staff to CC in school if they so chose.

Also the media will only report the bad and never the good. Like the UBER driver who was legally carrying a concealed weapon that stopped a mass shooting by shooting the perp after the guy started shooting off into a crowd. Hero for the 30 or so people that were near? Most definitely, is it news worthy? Not at all. Doesn't fit the agenda of the news outlet. Now if it had gone the other way, it would have been national news.

Also we have a majority of our population that doesn't know diddly about firearms. They think an assault rifle is the same as a Machine gun. Which is far from the truth. Just because a weapon can fire automatic DOESN'T Make it a Machine gun. Then the newly coined phrase assault weapon -which is the black scary looking ones-

Machine guns are expensive, pretty rare and you need a class 3 to possess. You also need a class 3 for a silencer, and for an assault rifle that isn't just a semi auto. Which are all expensive and take time to aquire.

Now that I have wrote a dang novel, I'm just going to end my post with taking away guns is not the answer, neither is more gun laws. Enforcing the ones we already have would be a good start. Murder is against the law, so are using and making lots of drugs, stealing, ect. Did it solve the problems when these laws were all made?

It doesn't matter what firearms controls are in place. If someone wants a firearm they will get one, either a legal one or an illegal one. All you need to know are the right people. If firearms were suddenly not available anywhere the lunatics would use some other tool.

Gun control is not about guns, it is about control. And what group is going to be controlled and lose their guns? The honest law abiding Citizens. The people who should not have guns will be the ones with them. Introducing a new world order will be a breeze with now way to protect your country. People who can't see this coming are naïve or just plain stupid.

Our idiot prime minister said a while back "he wants to get hand guns and assault rifles off our streets. Well the only people that carry that down the streets besides the police are criminals so like wtf is he talking about. You can't punish the law abiding owners and think that will fix the gang or illegal weapons problems Really pisses me off that the tard running the country doesn't even know what he's talking about
