UNFORTUNATELY, I DON'T HAVE IT..... WAS PURCHASED IN THE EDMONTON AREA IN DECEMBER 2013, AND IT'S STILL UNCLAIMED

$50 MILLION............

If you bought a Lotto Max ticket in December, take note: A $50-million dollar ticket sold in Edmonton remains unclaimed.
The sole winner of the huge jackpot bought the ticket Dec. 20, says the Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC).
The numbers drawn were: 2, 13, 18, 24, 27, 37, and 43.
“It’s not uncommon for people to forget about their lottery tickets, especially tickets purchased at such a busy time of year,” WCLC’s Andrea Marantz said. “We urge everyone to think back and look for tickets, even if it isn’t for the December 20th draw. We love to see our players claim all prizes - from Free Plays to the jackpots.”
In 2011, a Calgary woman presented a $4 million winning ticket just two days before it expired; it had sat for months in an old purse she’d stopped using because of a broken handle.
If the $50 Million prize is not claimed by December 20, 2014, it will be the largest unclaimed prize to date across Canada. Currently, the largest prize in Canada to have expired unclaimed was a $14.9 Million Lotto 6/49 prize from June 2006. That ticket was purchased somewhere in Alberta, but not in Edmonton or Calgary.
Prizes that are not claimed before their 1-year expiry date are returned to players in the form of additional prizing through the national unclaimed prize fund, often resulting in bigger jackpots than sales support, or are returned through special bonus draws and promotions.
This Friday’s Lotto Max jackpot is $15 million.

It's not mine either. Lotto tickets are another of my pet peeves! The government used to fund many, if not all of the concepts being used for all the various lottos across the country. So instead of government paying for many of the grassroots programs, the common joe-blow tax payer is now the one footing the bill with the hopes of winning something big! The government hasn't cut anything at the top to improve the grassroots actions but rather just keep on growing and getting more and more money from the working class.

I know I can't win if I don't buy a ticket. I tried that for a few years at $50/week until I realized the waste of my hard earned money. I doo not support the lucrative cash grab of government at the working man's expense.............end of rant.

I fully agree FS! One of the worst things to happen to my aunt was to win $10,000 on scratch cards. She is now addicted to lottery tickets and it has been 15 years since she won so bye bye winnings!

I just finished a 2 day volunteer work at a casino for the ASA. 2 days pull in was $571,000.00. Lady running the casino said about 80% of that money is DIRTY money. Drugs organized crime etc. At least some of that goes to NPO if that makes it any better.

I can see that Glen but for the average Joe, it is after tax monies that shouldn't have to go to support the governmental infrastructure.

That's a great deal of restraint, I don't think I could last 7 minutes.....within 10 I'd have my credit cards maxed and by 12 minut mark the LOC would be gone... The next 7 or 10 hours I'd be flat broke til I got my cheque.
