Well whyknot has pretty well Fawkes up the resource sector... No surprise there.
But wait she's far from done , watch her over regulate agriculture now . Pretty typical
ndp strategy.... The government knows best how to run your buisness....
lets see , get a bunch of tree hugger college drop outs and make up some new laws !

What could go wrong...?? If any other buisness in Alberta becomes profitable , keep your head down... It's must be bad for Alberta if you make a buck or two....

Having grown up and retired from farming , this is the most A dickulous (new word means NDP)thing I have ever heard of...b
I am sure there are some worried farmers out there right now...lets see what the NDP voters think now .... More taxes , higher food costs and record jobs lost!!
Its becoming crystal clear that this is the same old NDP ,just like all the others that have bankrupted every province they have ever held power in.....

This is gonna get ugly.....

Ya we are fawked. That's what happens when you get record young voter turnouts. They are convinced that they are getting more for less. Only issue is they will be the ones paying this huge mistake for years to come.

Once this OH&S regs hit the farms you will not be able to go help your neighbour without wcb. I see a lot of home fixing versus going to the hospital now since farms will be treated the same as all other workplaces with medical visits.

Well the ndp doesn't have to worry about losing the farm vote in the next election as they didn't get any rural votes last time either. I don't think a lot of people know how powerful OH&S is. They answer to no one. There fines are based on what your company can afford. If they feel like bankrupting you they have the power. When I heard this was going to happen I thought of the farm accident recently where the 3 girls passed away, OH&S would come there and fine the parents. I am very concerned for the farmers as they don't have the money the oilfield wasted on safety programs. When oil was $120 a barrel they could afford all this safety bullchit and now have set the bar very high.

She is targeting the 2 sectors that voted against the NDP. No surprise. A lot of farmers in our area are organizing meetings and social media is going crazy. They better not show up at my place and tell me how to change to fit the model they are spewing. They might find a combine header sitting on the hood of there car.

Another classic case of some so-called "experts" with zero agriculture experience force feeding their idea down the public's throats. This reminds me of the picture of the fresh-out-of-school safety officer holding her notepad, "I have no idea how to do your job, but according to my book you're doing it wrong". Thanks for nothing NDP...

Ken if you want to get people's attention you need to find something that affects them personally. But what do farmers have that even the city slickers want? Barley! You want people to get on your side, tell them there will be no barley for 2016. Tell them if this gets passed there will be no beer. You will have to explain to the people who voted NDP that beer comes from barley cause there too ignorant to know this. Farmers better put up a better fight against OH&S than the oilfield did.

I am not sure if anyone on here has seen the petition to read and sign if you would like. It sure would help out and then maybe we can stand a chance of this not becoming law because once it is passed its done deal. Please sign the petition at change.org bill 6 we are just about there and will be at the Leg today but are not to start protesting until 12 noon sharp or get kicked out/fined. http://change.org biil 6

I dont believe that they are concerned with safety. What they want is the money and even more important is they want to drive out the little guys that barely get by now.
Yes they do want our money, but they are promising it will be revenue neutral. All the money they collect will be reinvested back into Alberta.
Translation in English; we will take your money and we will higher more ndp staff to help us screw you over.

I like brad wall even more. I feel sorry for you farmers in Alberta, if this happens in Sask everyone I know and ourself included will be in for it.

It's really just a matter of time. The government will extract every cent they can from every industry they can.

Brian from the Wildrose Party made her look like a fool in question period when asked about this. Problem was she believes in her heart she is doing the right thing judging by her actions. Amazes me how people can think so different regardless of fact. Look at the refugee issue, guns the list is endless. Take your damn emotion and feelings out of the equation when making a choice and see what you come with after some education. This gets passed gone are the days of "farm kids" and earning a living by hard work learning life skills that will actually make you someone. Good luck enforcing this on the "colonies" around Alberta too.

I miss Ralph!!

I'm really starting to see a different side of things here now. It seems that a lot of what is happening both within Provincial and Federal Politics is just "jealous paypack" for all the good years we have had. I see many "educated" people saying how its about time we face reality and accept the new reality of our current situation. To me it seems many of these people are frustrated with how many "uneducated" people were making significantly more than them and they are now quite proud that they are now "on top" again. And of course the Oil & Gas as well as Agricultural Industries are the largest employers of "uneducated" workers, so we were taxed first. What these people don't realize is how many hours some of us work, and countless holidays and occasions missed all to earn what we do. As well as the fact that we are the reason many of them are employed, there would be no reason to hire more teachers, doctors, nurses, government workers etc. if the oil and gas industry wasn't driving growth.
