Anyone have any experience with a twist throttle on a sled?

was looking at getting a kit or buying a sno hawk one as they are sealed.

I would think that turning to the right with the throttle off and then trying to snap the throttle would be hard. I had one on my banshee back in the day and went back to the thumb after awhile. It's nice in some way but not so nice in most. Like if your in a sticky situation and need to hang on but let off the gas it's real hard to do that. I think it works on snow hawks and dirt bikes good cause you mostly turn bye leaning not turning the bars. And sleds you turn or counter mostly. But it would be interesting to try out for sure!

I also had one on my Banshee, and went back to a thumb throttle.

They have a much higher chance of freezing up as snow gets into the slider between the bar and the grip, then melts and re-freezes. If you have handlebar heaters it makes it much worse apparently. If it was me, I would put an additional return spring on the throttle linkage and make sure you have a tether if you go this route.
