It looks like the fuel controllers run in Alpha N mode rather than Speed density ? There is no wideband O2 sensor that actually does anything , systems can not run in closed loop to run a targeted AFR. No data logging , no windows based software to program to tune , credit card controllers that you Velcro to your dash ? . It looks to me that most of the control boxes are just a injector driver box that use TPS ,RPM and a preset boost number to add fuel . It would not cost that much to run a real ECU and have every parameter under your control and tune yourself. The fact that these sleds work with the limited designed ECU's leads me to believe that there is so much more room for improvement and power and reliability left on the table . IMO

I was considering getting a turbo for my 08 m1000,

You could buy this one for not much more than putting a turbo on yours, and save yours for the days you really don't "need" a turbo!

Here's an action shot from Hickshow's "Followcam 1". You can see his first ascent of "The Hurdle" with this sled in Thunderstruck 7 as well. .

Dont do it you need to tow a trailer full of tools . I went from riding revs to a turbo yamy hated it so mutch I lit the thing on fire.it probly saved me a lot of cash in repairs . Went back to a rev the best thing I ever did

If your looking at a turbo you really must have some mechanical inclination. They may run good but when your putting the extra strain on all the parts on the sled and motor things will fatigue. The best thing I do is alot of preventive maintenance, then you will always have a good time on the hills. My turbo on my Yamaha started out a bit rough and there were issues. I had issues with the RB3 box right from day one. After meeting up with Neil from Boost It, and him demoing his box on my sled, I was amazed. After getting the proper tuning, oil delivery to the turbo, clutching, and even as far as changing the spring in my blowoff valve my sled runs flawless and crisp without a missed beat. It took a while to get this to work so well though. I have learned alot about turbos, control systems and other things right down to the proper suspension for a turbo systems over the last few years with all my experience building my sled and helping others with issues with there sleds. Ive seen Neil make the turbo systems better on all the sleds from skidoo's to Polaris's, 2 strokes and 4 strokes. Ive seen people ride there turbo's till they melt there engine down, when they sounded a bit funny as they were hitting the throttle, they still continued to hold the throttle till the engine cratered, not knowing until that moment. So my advice to any one that wants a turbo is you must be mechanically inclined, and expect to do more maintenance than the average sled would require, if not you will have issues. If you keep them maintained well you will always ride with a big smile and make it back without breakdowns.

I am going to put at turbo on my 2012 Summit X and it will have most of the operating parameters of my racecar ECU . ( to not do so would be uncivilized )
