91/c112-50/50, 7-9 lbs, 12.5 A/F at 5000-10,000 feet here. Figure should be able to go to 12 lbs.
(liquid cooled-side mounted)
Who is using what#'s? Anyone got a good reference chart?

I've got a 2014 XM 800Etec 163" with the Instaboost kit.

I'm running VP C-111 (110 octane) 100% @ 6-8 psi (just a couple notches up from 0), 12.0 A/F at 1700-2200m (5580ft-7220ft). Boost-it box main fuel is @ 130. (12.0AF is an estimate from previously recorded data, as my AFR probe/gauge is not working presently...)

I recently turned the boost up to 10psi @ 2000m (6560ft), and the R.A.V.E valves didn't like it. Experienced 3-C.E.L's, 2 of which were for RAVE position sensors. Others were air temp sensor (P0133 - common), and P2299 (Incompatibility between brake lever position and engine/vehicle speed - like a dummy, I left the parking brake on and hit it).

P1476 - RAVE valve middle position not reached
P1477 - RAVE valve close position not reached

My understanding is that the Instaboost is nothing like their sidemount kit with regards to RPM/MAP/HP. It has been indicated to me that the Instaboost kit performs the same at 7-8psi as the sidemount peforms at 10-12 psi. (I don't understand how this is so, so please don't ask me to explain).

Regardless, it has also been indicated to me that when I turned up the boost to 10psi @ 2000m and WOT (7900RPM/110km TS), the turbo and subsequent MAP/Engine pressure was great enough to keep and/or pump open the RAVE valves, thus the codes, sputtering, burping and popping. This hypothesis seems logical, as I backed the throttle off to apprimately 75% (7900RPM, 110km TS), and the sled ran perfect. I then turned the boost down to 7-8, and it ran perfectly at WOT (7900RPM/110km TS). Thankfully I did not blow my motor at the higher boost setting- like an idiot! I should note that the snow was 1-1.5m deep (4-6ft) when performing the pulls in heavy/wet snow. (Sicamous Area March 21/22, 2015).

Needless to say, I will not be turning up the boost on my kit again... It's obviously not required. It will stay at it's current setting, or perhaps less.

my info might not be as helpful as my setup is home made 08 xp-t but i run 2/3 av 1/3 pump. 8psi. 11.5 -12 to 1 a/f estimate as my a/f guage (aem) stuck at 14.7 after 2nd ride also. on sunday in deep snow on a long pull i looked down briefly and saw 112km/hr w 3" track. at about 8500ft. (i live in invermere). kickass one- we should go for a rip some time.

my settings were at 7-8 psi boost, av gas, and boost it main fuel at 130psi. I got a bunch of popping, and bogging plus check engine light all the time. I explained my story on the other post. I was at about 7000'. Dropped the main fuel to 120psi in increments to where it seemed to back fire less. Increased my clutch to 4 from 3 and have a little more jam off the get go. Still seems to really bog on bottom end, and back fires plus check engine light every pull. Checked for codes but not flashing anything. Not really sure what to do anymore.

thanks kickass, i have heard this from Jordan at Golden Motortech. He said possible reed issue, and discussed several things he likes to do when installing a turbo on etecs. I trust him so think I will bring my sled their to get fixed up before my next trip.

Depending on #kms, could be fuel pump filter bag as well combined with spark plugs

Did anyone change plugs after installing their turbo? I was surprised after TSS installed mine that the plugs were still stock.

We have to keep this thread going! See what works the best for everyone, mine bogs quite a bit at low throttle, anywhere there is no boost it bogs even at high RPM
on boost its about 11.6-12.6 afr, but i'm running minimal boost right now, turned right down (5lbs ish)

I'm going to check the condition of my plugs, might be toast. Main fuel is set at 136 currently.

Thoughts?

edit: plugs are in great condition.

Stator? It it happening when you go down hill and off the throttle and then back on throttle?

Try upping boost at higher elevation, otherwise check stator or reeds!! Is your fuel pressure steady?
How many kms?

Running AvGas?

Thanks for the reply, it seems to have gotten better after i've upped the boost. I don't think its electrical related, but fuel related. I'm going to talk to boost it as they've now gone to 3.4 software, and i'm at 2.9. Once the boost hits the sled is a monster, chest deep downhill switch back turns won't even slow it down. I'm going to go with the sock style filter as well. Snow was so deep i was sucking in snow. Fixed an exhaust leak as well that was filling the engine compartment with exhaust.

Just a word of advice. I sent my box to boost it for a software update once and it came back with a different tune and ended up ruining a trip. If you send it out just make sure to specify its for a Doo.

Thanks for the tip, i think they're going to run different mapping as well, so- hopefully it'll help, not hinder my trip lol

In the process of changing reeds on side mount tss. not very fun with the intercooler in there, might have to pull gas tank. i had a bit of a bog in bottom end as well, changed plugs but the reeds are shot so didn't help much. just to let you guys know my plugs where down to .045 gap so i would check them if you havnt, also when you put them in tighten them then warm your motor up and re torque, i had one back off and the sled started popin and setting off knock sensor. my main is 130 as well, if you guys are having bogging issues or throttle response issues id bet its reeds, especially if your sled is older then 2014 when they came out with the new reed

Interesting, the sled rad perfect before the turbo was on and there has only been a hundred or so miles on the sled now with the turbo kit. Its a 13 though, 1160 total KM on the sled now.. I'll throw a new set of plugs in there before i go ride. How did you determine the reeds were shot without pulling everything and taking a look?

If i stab the throttle from a stop, it'll rev up to 3000ish when the secondary injectors kick in.. bog bog bog (probably 1.5 seconds) turbo spools and away she goes... Its the bog bog bog that gets you stuck tho, so I'm definitely looking for a fix.

Did you ever get this rectified?

2015 t3 174 800 etec TSS centre mount - 100% AV gas good to go all day to the bar - snow to air insta boost - 8lbs boost - stock plugs gd 2 go - changed the aem gauge to innovative powersports yellow on black face way easier to see -Bosch 02 sensors are pure garbage avoid like the plague - listen to Dave and Brandon Micku when they talk - they no what the hell they are talking about - but my centre mount pipe is designed to run 100% AV gas with negative 10 on the issues besides maybe nuking the odd 02 sensor

Interesting, Thanks for the post. Is your sled at all boggy down low?

Seems like 130 main and 100% av gas at 6-8 lbs is the ticket from 1700 to 2200m for Boost -it and TSS.

Has anyone tried a Dynamo Joes Turbo clutch kit?

Anyone try oversize rollers in the primary and different ramps or is everyone sticking with the suppliers set-up?
