Boys i know greg well but that seems high for any pipe. Brp not in habit of leaving room in pipe. If those motors around that power trygstad 927 must be 200+.

Greg claims it as a 12hp pipe, Duane was consistently getting 13hp, its a more efficient pipe over the stock pipe.

Without a pipe on it I highly doubt a trygstad makes 200hp.

With the jaws pipe, most 850 bigbores are 30-35hp gain.

Heres a vid of me drag racing my Buddies 872. Same sleds, only difference is the motor. was just for fun one day, not the end all be all of drag races.

But I know my friend wouldnt spend the 5g again. I used to run a 880bb, same thing waste of money IMO

Lilduke im taking it you have 850 with jaws and your buddy ol xm with 872?My 872 daylight n dark over 800. No comparison once so ever. However mines a 13 so was thinking of moving to newer chassis. Some of the 850 174 will stick close that i ride with. However if they have 165 i can usually get them if they have 165. Mine is the very first 162 3" full lug track i took of 1000!

Was that u ahead? I had to really play with clutches to get 872 to pull. Its alot different power curve.I find the deeper the snow the more the 872 shines.

Oh yes that makes sense. My son has xp thats severily lightened and hes about 30 lbs lighter. His ported 800 gets me most places till snow gets waist deep. Then bb shines.

yeah I've rode with the 872 lots.

it does make more power for sure, just think he was expecting more for 5000$.

sounds like you know what you are getting into.

guys think it's going to be like a turbo then end up dissapointed.

My buddy has a 927. I was beating him on my 16 174, and my buddies 850 that’s clutched was beating us both.
I had to put some magic in the clutches of the 927, I didnt get to ride it in the hills after that but testing it around home against my buddies clutched 850 there was a huge improvement.

My brother tried two team secondarys with the recommended bb clutching on his 872, it would not pull with my stock 800.

Mods do not matter if the power doesn’t get to the snow properly. Each BB engine has to be clutched slightly different than the other in my experience.

I was contemplating a 872 in my t3174

But want to try one out first, before spending that much

How much different is it???

I wouldn't do it. but it will make it a bit faster.

we ride 154 tracks also. the extra torque might make more difference on a 174

This is exactly the case. When i first started to clutch this bb a assumed adding weight was what was needed. I was way off. Once I got it figured it was alot better, it could use a little tweaking yet especially when snow gets heavier. In snow up to a ft a good running 800 is close, but after that you really see the tq of bb keep pulling. Turbos still have more but a pump gas turbo not a heck of alot better. Some are not. I think i paid 2100us quite awhile ago and installed myself.

2100$us is 2700$ cad +tax and shipping.

then your gonna spend a bunch on clutch stuff.

+your time or someone elses to install.

plus the thing is kinda finicky and needs an elborate break in.

you should talk to my friend Carter in revelstoke about what he thinks about it before you buy....
