Depends on which side of the border you are sitting on. From here it might seem like he has no compassion for Canada and Trudeau who is his closest ally (sarc). If you are south of the border and think it's important that your leader take care of the country he was elected to lead, it might seem reasonable....Defense Production Act puts USA first.... not Canada.

Not surprising. They have big shortages down there too, and they’re just protecting themselves. We sent 16 tons of medical supplies to China back in February, supplies that we didn’t have to spare, and now we’re suffering as a result.
From what they’re saying in the USA media, foreign countries were buying up production from companies like 3m, paying huge money in cash. Trump just slammed that door shut to ensure that PPE goes to Americans first.

Maybe, you could be right but I don't have the numbers to back that up, at this point it is simply numbers pulled out of thin air...

We should be at 10% when comparing ourselves to the US - same basic lifestyle with 10% of the population. so if we sent 16T than the US should have sent 160T so Trump was more reserved OR Trudeau was kissing azz

Right now our cases are 5% that of the US and our death rate is 2.5% - they are being hit much harder than us on a per capita basis.

Don’t think for a minute that if the tables were turned Canada wouldn’t be doing the same thing. If the big PPE manufacturing was in Quebec, they’d make a point of selling to everyone except the states, and so would Ontario. And western Canada would be way down on the list too.

That’s why you can never trust a progressive anything. They’re authoritarian socialists in sheep’s clothing. They come across as harmless, loving inclusive people when really they have a socialist agenda that they will use government control, confiscation and force to implement. The actions of the democrats and liberals recently in trying to subvert the relief legislation with unnecessary control measures is frightening. It proves they don’t care about their countries or their people. They care only about gaining more control over society so they can implement their social engineering agenda.

I've been struggling with this for a long time because I just can't figure out why a certain percentage of the population always circles back to socialism. It has been proven SO many times that it doesn't work. I think idealistic/clueless types look at the perceived failings of capitalism (income inequality) and then construct a utopia in their little heads that will be better. Problem is it doesn't work. History has proven that capitalism isn't perfect, but it is by far the best option

It's the bleeding heart factor inside everyone. It's a natural human way of thinking. "My heart bleeds for _______, all we need to do is help them out by doing _________." Very slippery slope though, quickly destroys any positive progress, both at the individual level and societal.
