Big news day for Trump.
Now he wants all NATO countries to spend 5% of their GDP instead of 2%. Sitting at 1.4% currently we have a long way to go.
The last time Trump was POTUS he got them up to 2% but it appears Biden let them slide since he took over, how nice of him to let we tax payers fund the bills for NATO and Europe.

Deterred who ?
I guess no one has tried to invade a NATO country since the treaty was signed so I’d say that’s a deterrent? That’s my thoughts on it I guess and hard not to argue that point. It’s obvious that Finland and Sweden rushed to join when Russia invaded the Ukraine. I’d be nervous if I was in that region and not a member of NATO.

I totally agree we should be at 2% minimum but it’s hard to pay for F35’s and Abrams tanks when you are funding the alphabet society, indigenous and every other woke phacking flavour of the day with our current government. We are a country of slackers under the current regime. Why buy cool chit when Uncle Sam is watching our 6? That’s the thinking from the left anyways

If the Turd hadn’t cancelled our F35 order when he took office because “HE” wanted himself to decide on the future direction we would move towards in regards to fighters in our Air Force we would have those planes in our arsenal now and be moving on to more assets for our defence. He took 5 years to make a decision that yes the F35 was the direction we should go and takes full credit for that decision. What a Fuggin loser he is

Absolutely, the only thing that guy has done efficiently is spend money like there is no tomorrow.

I bet those F35's were far cheaper back in 2015 than they were when he finally pulled the trigger on them. I can't help but think the stalling on that benefitted someone financially.

Well we know that Canada put hundreds of millions with other allies to help develop that platform and lost that when the Turd cancelled and decided to go to used Super Hornets from the Aussies. Then we were back on 35’s? WTF happened there??

Some classic water box thinking.... or someone's wallet got heavier. Either way it cost canada more than it should have. And 10 years later we still don't have anything close to the F35

Yep same as the vax. Chose the Chinese jab then China told him to pound sand so he went US made and one has to wonder just how much he paid to get to the front of the line after starting at the bottom.

Canada will only ever deploy as part of a coalition so someone else will do the heavy hitting with the 35’s.
