Was thinking of heading to trout lake at the end of january. None of us have ever been there so not sure what to expect. Is a guide a good idea for a day? Any info would be great. thanks

Trout Lake is only for really experienced flatlanders. I would just ride Boulder and Frisby if I were you. The ferry ride is a hassle and the scenery sucks.:beer::eek:

Staying and riding in revy is an option but we are just worried about it being tracked up if it doesnt snow just before we get there. I heard trout doesnt get near as many riders.

I agree with Kelly. Trout Lake can be a little on the extreme side. Be carefull If you are not an experienced mountain rider, a guide might be a good idea.

House for rent in Trout Lake. Sleeps 7 comfortably (6 single beds and one queen) or 10 cozily (2 in queen + double futon in living room). Pellet stove, dryer, bbq on large covered porch. Fully outfitted kitchen, towels, linen provided. Lots of parking on road. carriedooh@yahoo.ca. $200/night. Oh yeah, it is also for sale, if you give me $200 000 it will have paid for itself in 1000 nights!

Good idea!
The house is 2400 square feet, 2 stories with 2 full suites. The lot is 50x125 but is surrounded by crown land, right beside the lake. It doesnt have a garage but I just work on stuff inside on the ground floor. I only rent out the upstairs to vacationers.
