Years ago we flew in Louisville Kentucky, rented a car and did the Louisville, Nashville, Memphis loop, great trip.

I'll give you the highway numbers and you can follow on a map. I'm a long haul driver so I've been there many times. There's 2 ways...
1- From Calgary and north cross the border at Portal, ND take 52 and 281 to Jamestown and hit I-94 east then I-90, I-39, I-74, I-57 then I-24 into Nashville
2- From south of Calgary cross the border at Coutts/Sweetgrass...I-15, 87, 191, 12, 3(Billings can be kind of confusing to get thru but follow signs to get to I-90), I-90, 212, 85, I-90, I-29, I-70, I-64 and I-24.

Reviving this one, I’m looking at planning a trip to Nashvegas 2nd week of August
Any recommendations on what to do/areas to stay away from (planning a solo trip and I am brown, doesn’t seem like it’s racist down there from what I’ve researched tho)

Americans are awesome especially in the fly over county’s. The only racism most experience in America is on the news stories.

I was there for a work conference in mid April, I stayed an extra 3 days by myself - a week total. I never saw a single altercation & I went out every night except 1 down on Broadway street. Felt really safe, big mix of everyone just there to have a fun time. I can’t wait to go back!
The Kid Rock bar was a blast, great music. I went 3 times but it’s good every where. Just prepare for $17 cdn beers (every where) to appear on the credit card after tip & exchange.
I did the music row happy hour, it was pretty cool but was dragging a bit by the end of it - lots of old farts lol but really good atmosphere.
Check out the grand ole opry, it was fun, Johnny Cash museum was interesting, Gibson garage , I didn’t go to the country music hall of fame but wish I had.
Probably should have checked out the Hustler club Nashville but I figured that was the place I would get in trouble

Broadway has changed a lot and not for the better. Every bro country loser has a bar there now. Do a tour of the Ryman Auditorium and get goosebumps when you think about who else has sat in that dressing room over the years. Catch a show there too no matter who is playing it's just an amazing piece of music history. My favorite honky tonk is Robert's Western World, get the inflation special. If you have time a tour of the Jack Daniel's distillery is a must stop but it's a couple hours out of Nashville. Head over to East Nashville to catch that vibe as well, it's less commercial than the Broadway strip.
